    POD for 7-26-09

My first washer! This is the exact washer and the matching electric dryer in this same color I got when I got married. I purchased both units NIB here in Argentina from a Bolivian diplomat who'd brought them from the States. These were US standard voltage units (240/115V, 60 Hz) and he wouldn't...

    Gas refridgerators?

Server kerosene refrigerator My 96 year old great aunt who lives in a country estancia has a running Servel kerosene refrigertor, standing right next to an electric modern refrigerator. From the looks it has to be a mid 60's model. My aunt keeps the Servel running because it keeps cooling when...

    Cool Vintage Car Artwork/Ads

Great site! Enjoyed every single picture, specially the Cadillacs. Now that everything GM is memory, please watch this GM and Frigidaire commercial from 1961. It must be the worst commercial I have ever seen in my whole life! But then, the cars are beautiful, so are the Frigidaire appliances...

March 21st... ...is the official start of autumn here in Buenos Aires, south of the Equator. This reminds me of a time I was having a haircut in this very fancy barber shop in Buenos Aires, it was in January, and the 20 something year old guy who was clipping my hair told me he had just come...

Wood coal Place four paper mats on the floor carpets in front of each seat area and pile over each one of them a nice amount of wood coal. Leave overnight with windows closed. Worked for a friend of mine. Once smell is gone from car you can enjoy a good BBQ!

    If The Shoe Fits...

As seen from overseas... Please, don't want to offend no one with my humble opinion, but the shoes thrown at your president (yes, he still IS your president) by an Iraqi journalist are generally presented by the global media (absolutely biased towards Bush) as an act of humiliation that...

    Hot Plugs and Outlets.

Next time... ...don't use sandpaper, use a metal file. Sandpapers leave an embebbed residue of sand in the copper which actually acts as a dielectric, hindering the normal flow of the electric current. Always use a metal file to eliminate the copper oxyde from plugs.

    Surging For Solid State

Softener dispenser Greg, my washer, which I purchased in 1980 and in essence was "identical" to yours, had a double timed dispenser for bleach and softner. The filling spout was divided into two halves, one for the bleach and the other for the softner. At the proper time during the main wash a...

    Surging For Solid State

Greg, congratulation on your amazing find! That is the exact washer I purchased in 1980 with the matching gas dryer, but my set was harvest gold. The washer was excellent and I used it until mid 90's when I purchased my present Maytag set. I gave both washer and dryer to my BIL, who has 5 kids...

Cold water fill only... ...with no inboard water heater! For all washes and rinses you can choose from any water temperature, as long as it is cold. Not for me, no way. Look to page 7 of the user's manual. Emilio http://eden.electrolux.com.br/Eden_Brazil_2006/manuais/man_lta15.pdf
