Thanks!!

Thanks!!! I knew you all would have a ton of helpful ideals!!!! I bought a gallon bottle of vinigar durning the lunch hour...since the car is sitting during the day I'm going to fill up some plastic ware and let it sit during the day...also going to place charcole on a paper plate under the seats..will try that for a few days...I always have a good supply of dryer sheets on hand. all that said...I think the buger is going to be getting the stink out of the duct work..rocket sent a good site with instructions on how to deodorize the duct system..will give that a try..if not guess I'll contact the Nissan dealer. I was talking to a friend about this yesterday..they thought I was being a bit of a whinney baby...they stopped by the house last night to see Jr's first car..as a smoker they agreed...it was bad!!!!....I dont feel like such a drama queen now. Thanks everyone!!!!!/mark

Wood coal

Place four paper mats on the floor carpets in front of each seat area and pile over each one of them a nice amount of wood coal. Leave overnight with windows closed. Worked for a friend of mine.

Once smell is gone from car you can enjoy a good BBQ!

Our VW Westfalia was very mousey smelling when we bought it. Febreeze did nothing but give me a headache. Spraying white vinegar in the van helped some. What worked the best was using a carpet cleaners upholsery attachement and cleaning everything, seats and carpet. The headliner is vinyl, and got a good scrubbing with something that cuts grease. Not sure what I was using then. Then letting it sit in the sun, with the windows just cracked to let it dry out well.

This suggestion already made but it worked for me....lotsa baking soda.

I bought a car that the transmission blew, heavy heavy smokers had owned. It sat for three years in the sun with ashtrays full and no care before someone gave it new life and a new transmission.

Needless to say the smoke smell was well baked in. The Heavy smokers were driving it again and the old renewed with new.Well then they decide to trade it in coz its old (to them) and they needed something newer to ruin. It lands at my buddys a car lot, he tells me all about it and I buy it. He warns me of the smoke smell. We take it to his detailers and after the wet carept smell evaporated the smoke smell was back witha vengance. So I decided I cant have that and called Mike to tell him our deal was approaching the off position. His wife said take baking soada out there tonite, at least three boxes and pour it all over everything you can see. Leave it there a few days even if you have to brush away enought just to drive.Three days later we vacummed it out and its gone.A year later, just got in from the store, and its still gone.
