Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

Imperial model? Looks like a model below my 1990 Kitchenaid Superba. Model and serial numbers will tell for sure.

    Warm Rinses

Warm rinses One feature I really miss was the auto-temp control on my direct drive Kenmore 90 series washer I bought new back around 1999 or so when I was in college. It was perfect for winter months when the tap was really cold. I think it would adjust to bring cold water to about 70 degrees...

    G E FILTER-FLO

Thank you John At some point they must have made a change. I specifically remember when I was young, both grandmothers having GE machines (‘69 3-speed and the other an 80’s Hotpoint). I definitely recall flipping the hotpoint from high to low and it did it but very loud banging noises. After...

    G E FILTER-FLO

Speed switch Switching from low to high would require stopping and starting the motor. The slow speed solenoid energizes which raises a sort of finger or tab to catch the slow speed clutch arm and maintain it there keeping it from going into full speed. This means constant force is being...

GE filter-flo vs. Whirlpool direct drive oils

90w gear oil I’ve used it in a GE filter Flo transmission and also Kenmore/Whirlpool belt drives. Seems to do just fine.

    1986 GE Filter Flo questions

Loud clunk Likely the normal sound of a tub brake engaging at the end of your spin cycles but would need a video or sound bite to be sure. You might jump on YouTube and watch other videos of filter-flos to see if the sounds match.

    My “new” Cadillac

Thanks everyone! I’m really excited about it. I don’t know alot about the previous owners other than this owner only had the car for a little over a year before he passed away unexpectedly. I’ve combed through nearly $9k in receipts of work he had done to tune this car up and yet he didn’t even...

    My “new” Cadillac

I am so excited to finally own my very first classic automobile. I had always considered finding a decent Oldsmobile or something similar from the 1970’s. This beautiful 1972 Cadillac Sedan deVille caught my attention immediately and I was determined to get it. I hope to have many years of...

Low Speed as Relevant to Filter Flo Washers

Slow speed I often use the slow speed wash on my filter flos. The fast speed is pretty aggressive for certain things so it’s a matter of really short wash time or slower speed agitation to get effective washing. I’ve never had a clutch fail or wear out due to its use. I did service the clutch...

Time To Turn To The Westinghouse

Frigidaire brand It’s a v-shaped material-coated belt meant to act as a clutch as well (it is supposed to intentionally slip during spins) Mine is orange and has Q181625-L on it. I posted a link to an eBay item that looks the same. You might try it and see if it works. I imagine it will...

Time To Turn To The Westinghouse

Westinghouse belts I had to replace the belt on my Westinghouse washer for the same reason. It was splitting and breaking. I have an extra one. I’ll find it and post pics.

POD 4-29-2023 Cheapest Looking Kenmores Ever

‘74 Kenmores I’m still working on this pair but these are the plastic panel Kenmore 60’s I picked up a month or so ago. I feel like these panels are slightly reminiscent of my ‘67 Whirlpool washer.
