    Ordered Persil

$20 for a 45-load box? I've always seen it at $45+ for a 45-load box, at least for Megaperls. Where did you see it for that price? I was under the impression that there was a MAP for all things Persil...

    Ordered Persil

You will like it! If it was even 2x the cost of Tide, I would still be buying it. But at 4-6x, it is a hard sell I must admit...

The On Line Homemade Laundry Detergent

I see Fels all the time in our local Kroger. From what I understand it ~used~ to contain Stoddard Solvent which was a pretty darn powerful stain remover IIRC. Now however I think it is just a "soap" which could cause issues if you have hard water or can't soften it enough with the other parts...

Given unlimited funding and USA availability (outside of Marine applications)? This...

    Bosch Axxis experiences?

Thanks for the feedback guys - that was very informative and helpful! WRT the condenser dryer, the EU versions are advertised as having a "self cleaning" condenser IIRC. Not sure how well that would actually work in the real world, however. Oddly, the (apparent) manual for the US version...

    Bosch Axxis experiences?

Does anyone have any personal experience with the North American Bosch Axxis washers and dryers? The "24460" version washer, for instance, seems to have been out (with minor changes) for some time, yet on many of the sites I check the reviews (more like one-paragraph blurbs) seem remarkably...

    Readers Rides 2012

2007 Subaru Legacy Wagon. The pic below is not my actual car but the exact same year/model/color. Absolutely love the car at 5+ years, and plan to eventually replace the wife's Nissan minivan with a Subaru of some kind. I've always told everyone that if I ever won the lottery I'd probably...

Washing (& Drying) Disasters: Stuff Left in Pockets!

I've washed one little SD/USB memory stick adapter and card probably 4-5 times already, and every time I wipe it down, let it dry overnight and it still works perfectly. Remarkable. I'm really bad about leaving paper in my pockets (napkins & receipts mostly) which drives my wife nuts when she...

    Finish Power Up Booster Agent

The point for dishwashers is to help reduce the effects of hard water, which are MUCH more visible on stainless silverware and glasses than on clothes, IMO. We have rock-hard water here in Middle TN and after phosphates were finally removed from DW detergents we had to start adding LemiShine to...

Original Mechanical control Neptunes in Mn.

Ahhh....Neptune. The Washer That Killed Maytag. I had the step-up (next-gen?) from this, with the itty bitty pushbutton controls...was *so* excited to get it when we moved into our new house. Loved the retro-future look, the high efficiency washing. Then...had to have the boot replaced...

    PLEASE HELP ME TEST...

Looks great here - Mac 10.7.3, Chrome and Preview for printing to a HP LJ3800. The printout itself was beautiful - good as new! I now feel ready to install my 1963 Kenmore Automatic Washer!

    Rosalie's No Suds Detergent

I wouldn't object to a "lights" version with oxygen bleach and some of the more innocuous OBs (if such exist) as long as there was also a "darks" version that had neither. Think Persil Megaperls - they have both Color and Universal (lights) versions.

    Inferno 3500

That is just the coolest thing ever! Pity our home ovens aren't self-cleaning like this, eh?

    Better lock up your Tide!

‎"Police were able to quickly identify the criminals by their immaculately clean and bright clothes, and massive arm muscles" ??? Seriously - a large, heavy bottle of liquid detergent seems a somewhat unlikely item for a quick smash-and-grab.

KA bites the dust again: A shoppping I will go

Make sure if you are opening it up to check on the fuse that you inspect the control board for any physical damage such as burns, warping, etc. After what happened to my 2004 KA - which nearly caught on fire - I'd recommend that. We replaced ours with a Bosch with a built-in softener (link...

    Rosalie's No Suds Detergent

Sign me up for testing with hard water - ours is like a rock here in Middle TN! Having two small kids, I'm sure I put it up against a variety of hard to remove and unpleasant stains....

    GE Nautilus?

I had that same model dishwasher (I believe) back in the late 1990s. I'm not sure how long GE made them but it could be a lot more than "3-4 years old".
