    More from the Grave!

To Frigilux... Eugene, did you get the email I sent with the pages I had scanned? I cannot upload these here myself-only a paid member may do so. Unless there IS a way for me to upload these, I am sorry. The pages were of the top-load Frigidaire Drycleaner and the Violet Ray washers system.

You Can Be *Sure* If It's Westinghouse

YES, Launderess... The dance those wholesome teens were gyrating to was the "Frug"! I never did that kind of dancing, it wasn't my style! LOL

    Update

Hey Direct-Drive Dave! I sure wish we could chat and even maybe meet! We would have a blast discussing our favorite topic! I have MANY brochures and catalogs of US & European washers & dryers, from the early 60's on. I also have O L D Life magazines with appliance ads from the late 40's and...

    Whirlpool Portable W&D Set

I still cannot understand... Why are people so lazy as to not to have to remove the dryer lint filter after every load? The cleaner the filter is, the easier the dryer will work and the faster the laundry will dry! No "rocket scientist" degree needed. And, to hear that taking-out the filter...

I have a 50 year old Ling Temco dishwasher

Ling-Temco This company also made one of the first-ever microwave ovens! The company was known for it's aircraft components, if I am not mistaken. Jason

a bargain if you live in the Desert Cities

Post# 562146, Reply# 2 12/9/2011 at 13:25 by Pulsator OH Jamie! You do NOT want a Maytag orbital washer! I got one in 1994 and HATED IT-a BIG 800.00 mistake, it agitated quite badly and had a small tub! I sold it to a local woman for 225.00 in 4 months and bought my wonderful Kenmore.

    More from the Grave!

Post# 561559, Reply# 37 12/6/2011 at 17:56 by Frigilux Hi Eugene! I don't know if I, as a "basic" member of AW, can upload any photos. What I will do is ask my brother to scan the page of the Frigidaire Top Load Drycleaner, and the Violet Ray water-recycling laundromat, and post those in...

Pink Maytag dryer for sale in Yorktown NY

A Gas water-condenser? I think NOT... I believe this machine is a gas dryer, according to the door at the bottom right for the burner. I never heard of a condenser Maytag,(other than possibly the Waher-Dryer Combo), let alone a GAS condensing model! You MUST vent a gas dryer oudoors! (:

    Loudest and Quietest washing machines

Coronado's were not made by Norge Todd, Coronado's were "Franklin-type" machines, like Wizards, Bradfords, AMC's and Marquettes. I believe Zenith had wahsers and dryers like this, but never saw them here on the East Coast. I agree, nothing will last anymore, I sure hope I am alive to see our...

    Reviewers writing on message boards

To Tom Turbo: I agree with you about Google. They take-over everything and we have to deal with their constantly changing and highly confusing mods to sites like You Tube. For example, I detest their new format, so my channel is kept to the "old style". They think they are making things...

    Reviewers writing on message boards

This is like Zagat If you think that Zagat restaurant reviews are "straightforward", they are also quite biased. People do not realize that I believe one "PAYS"(in different ways) the Zagat's to come to review their restaurant, and they in turn NEVER give it fair or poor ratings!!!

Using 1966 Amway S-A-8 Detergent Compound - will it work?

For Whirlcool: Very old powder detergents may not fully dissolve when used, as witness my old 1950's "all" powder in the blue & green box. If you wish to use such old powders, try dissolving the recommended amount in a small container of hot water(or nuke it) before adding it to the washer...

Using 1966 Amway S-A-8 Detergent Compound - will it work?

To Polkanut-read this! http://scamadvocates.com/32-Melaleuca.html I am not surprised that these "door-to-door" sales people work for scam-artist, pyramid-style" companies. Sadly, people rush-into these situations before really doing their homework. Luckily my young Amway rep is very smart...

    Single-Serve Coffee

What I use... I would never use regular-auto-drip grind coffee, let alone America's Choice!!! For authentic Turkish coffee, I use ultra-fine powder from Turkey that our "sister" brings for us(she is Turkish)and a nice copper vessel. You can very easily get Turkish coffee here from the MANY...

Using 1966 Amway S-A-8 Detergent Compound - will it work?

I still have OLD detergents... I still have about a third of a box of 1998 Amway SA8 Plus 12.6% phosphate which still works GREAT(no enzymes, though-I add those), two 20-something load boxes of never-used 1991 Fab Ultra powder 10.7% phosphate and OLDDDD 1950's all! I also have a 24-tab unused...
