GE Reveals the Appliance and Electronic Future in 1954

It is, IT IS! That sure is a Frigidaire Filtrator Dryer-we had one just like it!

France Fines Detergent Makers For Anti-Trust Violations

It is true... I have seen ALL detergent prices increase in the last year. It is very difficult to find much better pricing of our favorites even at Walmart or Target! All detergents seem like they have been price-fixed! I makes me sick, to say the least. Everything is going up except our...

    Frigidaire in Teal

The Color That is not "teal", it is aqua/turquoise! Teal is quite a bit darker, the closest thing to that would be the 60's Whirlpools in shaded blue, but with a bit more green in it.

    My Family-Made Appliance-the "Fleck Broiler"

Tom, if I drink hard water... I would get totally constipated! I hate hard water, it screws with my innards. Anytime I go to visit my friends in VA, I take a box of prunes with me! The "stiff things" will come out the rear, and not stick-out the front either, so the water is not a substitute...

    New washer and drywer

To Bud About Huebsch/Speed Queen I know you highly praise your washer. I remember back in 1997 in GA with my sister, I saw my FIRST Amana front-load washer. I vowed to buy one because it looked like an "old-fashioned sort-of goody". I shortly found out early 1998 still down there, that the...

    Speed Queen - Canada

WOW PAUL! Haha! Yes, I surely remember that Dupius Freres store on SteCatherine! My brother and I also saw our first pair of Pony brand sneakers there, I was so tempted to buy them as they were so cool! I do also remember seeing Belanger appliances there, too. I was last in Montreal August...

Violet-Ray Commercial Washers & WED Machine

The Closed-Water System Tom, I will have to look at the article in my magazine to tell you about this supposed recycling. I actually don't think my former friend's dad's laundry had that system. Maybe that Buffalo location used the closed system out of desire to experiment. We shall see...

Norge Combo for sale on ebay

Thanks Guys! I appreciate any illuminating feedback on my questions, you guys are the best! Yes, Mr. Gansky, please do scan some sales literature for those combos! They are so elusive, because I never saw many of them. Thanks Tom for the clarification about the Easy and SQ's! I have SO...

My weekend washer trip turned into a wonderful reunion!

The Kenmore WD & Monkey Wards OH those machines are BEAUTIFUL! Kevin, you are SO lucky to have the Combo, and I wish you best of luck with it! I sure hope we get to see these machines in action! Jason

Violet-Ray Commercial Washers & WED Machine

Hiya, Charlie! I don't ever remember Violet Ray machines being made in front-loaders. It is quite likely that the laundry gutted the old top-loaders and put-in new, then-modern front-loaders. It could very well be that they never bothered to change the signage! BTW, I really like your...

Norge Combo for sale on ebay

OMG I would never expect the Norge Combo to wash & dry 18 BATH towels, especially not today's HUGE ones! My machine is 4.5 CuFt and cannot handle that! I don't wash more than 6 pair of jeans at once either! All old Norge front-load machines did a spray-tumble wash/dryclean from a...

Violet-Ray Commercial Washers & WED Machine

Has anyone besides me ever seen a Violet-Ray Washer-equipped Laundromat? I specifically remember the machines were "Franklin-Style" ones, with oval glass windows and a ultra-violet lamp built-onto the lid, to shine-down upon agitating laundry. These machines used a closed-system recycling-type...

    More from the Grave!

Coin-Op Frigidaire Washers and Drycleaners I used a Frigidaire-equipped Laundry back in 1977 in Hicksville right before we got our 1-18 pair. The washers were aqua, had the round window and "Jet-cone-type" agitator with no cap. I have never seen another modern Frigidaire laundry that I can...

    POD 5/12/11

Beam/Franklin offshoots I know that the Beam/Franklin brands included AMC, Bradford, Coronado and Wizard. While I have seen Bradford and AMC sold at local Long Island W.T. Grant, and A&S & Gertz respectively, I never saw any in action.

Miele 3033 or top-end Electrolux or Samsung

Bud, stick with your Huebsch! You obviously got the machine of your dreams, I have not! NA-made stuff is no longer made well, sadly. I would never buy a SQ or equivalent front-loader. I have yet to try the fairly-new top-load SQ's in my apartment building laundry room, but I am not too eager...

Post# 560544, Reply# 27 12/1/2011 at 03:46 by ronhic Chris, many Korean-made front-loaders like my Samsung are slightly DEEPER than most US machines, with very few exceptions. Same goes for the height, my Samsung is about 2+inches higher than our old Kenmore TL.(look at my photo) The...
