Why are Top Loaders Cheaper than Front Loaders?

Post# 558270, Reply# 41 11/21/2011 at 10:21 by PassatDoc Hi Doc! While I am quite happy with the total cleaning & extraction performance of my 2010 Samsung WA448AAW, I wish the machine had full-width "normal-size" tumble vanes, to create far better drop. While my drum has the "diamond...

    Miele W 4446 Spin 2000 RPM

My Samsung Hi Mike! I have my Samsung WA448AAW since May 30, 2010. This beautiful machine replaced the "premium" Electrolux I had for just one month which I sent back because it was so disappointing! The "mother board" on my Samsung had to be replaced by my birthday 2 months later that year...

GE Profile Dryers Does anyone have one of those "V-shaped"-door GE Profile dryers? They have reverse-tumble, and I want to know how good they are. I am quite hesitant to buy any GE product. Does anyone realize that GE's Harmony Dryer is made by LG? So are many of Kenmore's newer ones!

    Anyone still listen to Cassettes?

OOPS, I forgot to mention... My Denon cassette player/recorder is a 1992 model bought in New Hampshire, along with my 20" Sony Triniton Stereo TV. The cassette recorder is a slide-out drawer type and has no auto-reverse. My beloved Sony TV sits in my bedroom on the floor, covered/protected...

    Anyone still listen to Cassettes?

I still listen to cassettes Since I still have a nice-size collection of cassettes, and have a beautiful front-loading Denon recorder, I love listening to the music I don't have on either LP or CD. My family was the very first in the neighborhood to get a beautiful, 1968 Ampex stereo cassette...

    For the Whitest-White & Cleanest-Clean - Only Fab Will Do !

Sudsy Washes I believe the reason P&G's Tide was never mentioned as being sampled in Frigidaire's is because of all the suds it made. I didn't use Tide, but once used Canadian ABC detergent in my 1-18 Frigie, and it made "oceans of suds"! During that one-time-only use, I stopped the machine...

Cascade Powder w/phosphates VS Cascade non-phosphate w/stpp added

Try this... Reckitt-Benckiser has a product available in some supermarkets here called "Finish Glass Magic". I was told by a company representative that it has phosphates and chlorine in it, and was exempt from the DW detergent phosphate regulations. I have looked at a box, and sure enough, it...

    Oxyclean in the Dishwasher

Using Oxi-Clean in the Dishwasher I don't think using Oxi-Clean in the DW will hurt anything, but yes, do watch for oversudsing. If I am correct, Cascade makes "regular" Action Pacs with oxi-bleach! I never have, nor will ever, use Oxi-Clean. I value all my clothing too much.

A stay in a Frank Lloyd Wright House...

Thank You Fred & Robert What an absolutely fabulous house! It's amazing, I have never been in one of FLW's creations before, and believe it or not, I have yet to visit the Guggenheim Museum in NYC! I don't live far from there either. Is that one of the "two rivers" shown in post #5 of the...

    My Family-Made Appliance-the "Fleck Broiler"

Here is an eBay link to an old, family-made broiler. Two of our closest friends had one, I have a photo of it on their kitchen counter somewhere. The broiler was made by my father's cousin, either in the factory in Brooklyn, NY or in a factory in New Jersey. Surprisingly, we never had one...

    Combo Thread!

What I would pick... The only washer-dryer combo I ever watched operating, was our friend's old big Whirlpool. My aunt & uncle in Buffalo had a Duomatic, but I visited them way after they got rid of it. If I could pick the one I wanted now, it would be either the Duomatic or the 1963 Kenmore...

    Combo Thread!

What happened to the Norge WD-Combo photo? I cannot seem to find those great photos of the Norge Washer-Dryer Combo that was posted in one of the threads. Would someone please help me find it? Thanks! Jason

    Comfort Lily and Riceflower

Persil Liquid & such... I have not used any UK detergents since I was there last in 1986. I brought home many different brands to try here. I can tell you the Ariel and Persil Powders' scents were DIVINE! Today, I buy German-made Persil Color Gel(blue clear liquid), and Universal...

Does Gain make colors fade ?

Optical Brighteners in Gain and other US detergents Hi "mrwash" Flo! If you are using liquid Gain, it probably has optical brighteners, as I do believe all Gain formulas do. I do read P&G's facts sheets. The only Cheer detergents that has no brighteners are the liquid Darks formula, and all...

Watching the Washer when you were Young (and now, too!)

Post# 554077, Reply# 6 11/4/2011 at 12:19 by laundromat I sure do remember the Launderama! While I never saw one personally, and wished to, they've been in many of the old "Coinamatic Age","Coin-Op", and Laundermatic Age" laundry magazines my father's law partner had gotten in the mail...
