during the course of 2023 if you had to buy a vintage washer to replace your modern washer

I'd have a hard time finding anything vintage around here. Been looking for something fun, maybe a belt drive Kenmore. Coming up dry.

    GE Dryer in Milltown NJ

Hi all, I have a line on a GE electric dryer in a basement in Milltown NJ that needs a new home. Model DDE7100BLWH, Serial SM211096G, so I'm thinking this is September of 1971. I don't have space for a third dryer right now, only one for a washer. If you have any interest reach out by the...

    KitchenAid Dryer Service Advice

Thanks John! Just waiting for parts at this point. I think the plastic cover on the lamp is just yellowed through and through from heat. One could try and retrobrite the lens but I'm thinking it wouldn't do much.

    KitchenAid Dryer Service Advice

Thanks all. I usually wash jeans on warm. I don't mind too much if it gets stained; just wanted to see the raw metal covered up. It does look nice, and I don't expect it to stay perfect. I sanded down the rusty spots and scuff sanded the whole area, then wiped down with windex and rubbing...

    KitchenAid Dryer Service Advice

Thanks guys. I had thought the rollers looked pretty good; I'll likely compare them to the new ones and if the rubber is good, they'll go back on. Lubricate them with 3in1, perhaps? Will definitely clean up the axels before I re-assemble. I wouldn't know where to drill into the motor, so...

    KitchenAid Dryer Service Advice

My main issue is even though I've disassembled, I don't know just by looking at things whats good and whats worn. I do see lots of rust colored dust on the rear felt, and this seems to match the color of the deposits on clothes that started this endeavor.

    KitchenAid Dryer Service Advice

Evening all. Trying to get a handle on what needs replacement on my Kitchenaid Oven Door dryer. I've been noticing some odd marks on some clothes and decided to investigate. Upon further investigation, it seems that there's a gap at the top of the drum, where it meets the back wall. It's...

    Suspension on my Miele W1926

Got the valve today and after some laundering Tetris, got it installed. First wash and I could tell the original valve was bad; haven't had a stream this strong since I was a teen. Thanks for the assist, everyone!

    Suspension on my Miele W1926

Appreciate that, John. I am a little gun-shy on subbing parts because the last Miele we had died after an electrical incident with an inexpensive valve. I believe the part is 240v as well. I bit the bullet and bought the Miele part. Still plan on getting some pictures when we dig in...

    Suspension on my Miele W1926

Thank you! I had no idea this part of the site existed! Every time I looked, I ended up here: https://www.mieleusa.com/e/laundry-care-spare-parts-1300032-c Hence my confusion. Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. Now all I need to do is hold my nose and pony up that $250.

    Suspension on my Miele W1926

Wow, I wonder if sears even has that part. If so, that's an eyewatering price. More than I paid for the set twice over. Indeed, an electrical mishap with the same valve on my previous machine lead to its demise. I've searched that part number and come up empty on all the sites you...
