Who thinks moderns of washers of today should bring back true wash and rinse tempatures?

I don't deny that at all. It's why our federal government is $17.6 trillion in debt and in de facto bankruptcy.

Who thinks moderns of washers of today should bring back true wash and rinse tempatures?

"Our Government DOES Have The right To Regulate Energy Use" By what constitutional authority? The DOE didn't exist until 1977, and was created to handle nuclear material. Now they're dictating how much hot water I'm allowed to use to clean my clothes. Like all other federal agencies it's become...

Who thinks moderns of washers of today should bring back true wash and rinse tempatures?

The simple biological fact is, anything under 140F wash temperature is considered unsanitary, and these manufacturers and/or governments will eventually be sued into abandoning this Soylent Green nonsense. If nothing else, wait until the bacterial and viral epidemics start, like in most (I...

    New bathroom cabinet

I'm guessing blaming union labor would be step two. :) Also wanted to throw in a plug for Robern's shipping procedures. The cabinet arrived completely double boxed with solid 10" foam padding between the two. Very impressive and I'm sure it has something to do with the mirrors not being...

    New bathroom cabinet

According to the boxes both were U.S. made. The Robern in Bristol, Pennsylvania and not sure about the Koehler. Here's the link to it: http://www.homedepot.com/p/KOHLER-Single-Door-20-in-W-x-26-in-H-x-5-in-D-Aluminum-Cabinet-with-Square-Mirrored-Door-K-CB-CLC2026FS/100647144#specifications

    New bathroom cabinet

We bought a new medicine cabinet at HD and it had large mirror coating scratches right out of the box. So we went back to exchange it, all of their remaining three units had the same problem. Not sure what's up with Koehler's quality control, but we finally returned it and went with one online...

Who thinks moderns of washers of today should bring back true wash and rinse tempatures?

"PS SQ is about to discontinue TL washers that fill with all hot water, better buy one this year if you want it." The race to the bottom continues. We'll see how Alliance's commercial customers (~90% of their sales btw) react to underperforming machines and permanently stained underwear.

Who thinks moderns of washers of today should bring back true wash and rinse tempatures?

[raising hand] Don't buy into the lies. The only time cottons should ever touch cold water is when you're stuck in the rain. And 90% of what we wear today is cotton.

"The latest generation have made it clear they are not into big homes and lots of stuff. A smart manufacturer will plan for this and position themselves for that." Best of luck to them. Currently the average new home size in the U.S. is ~2400 sq ft., close to its all-time high of 2600. Even...

Hydralique, 450 sq. ft. is a studio, or at most a 1-bedroom apartment. Fine for one or two people but unsuitable for any typical American family. My point is that no bottom exists to the pit of lowered expectations, e.g. in large Japanese cities people sleep in morgue-like chambers inside walls...

"Anticipating greater demand for appliances that will fit in so-called micro-apartments or living spaces of around 450 sq ft, General Electric Co." Over my cold dead body. Once again, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CAPITALISM IS FORCED TO COMPETE WITH COMMUNIST SOCIALISM.

"I have used different detergents with the same results." Buy a jug of Charlie's Laundry Powder and use as directed. It's a low-suds formula and will remove accumulated detergent (and other residues) from your clothes. Forcing a warm water rinse once in a while (preferably always) on the...

Westinghouse 1960s promotional film for customizable front panels.

I posted links to this video a few weeks ago. The original (without added site branding, which btw is considered very tacky for public domain videos) is available here: http://https//archive.org/details/match_your_mood

    New Liquid Final touch

The current Downy formula has its own problems, e.g. very aggressive formula (and fragrance) that doesn't wash off completely and builds up over time. Like most everything else I miss the original. :)

    Identification challenge....

I found this from 1941. Lots of OCR errors. Also no clue what The Jewish Criterion is, imo probably not a product line lol: December 19, 1941 The Jewish Criterion Five PHIICO RAH-7 $254.95 INCLUDING 5.YEAR PROTECTION P1AK PHILCO SMR-6 Super-Quality REFRIGERATOR Amazing value! Full 6.3 cu...

As people get burned by $2000-$3000 W/D sets with one-year warranties, suddenly SQ looks much less expensive. :)

For selling, it's much easier (and more effective) to point to parts and explain their absence on BOL models, than to try and imagine parts on TOL models that nobody can even see. Also, any good salesperson will know the full functionality of these extra features and be able to explain it to...

The AWN412 is current BOL and lacks some very useful/popular features. Since they have only three residential models I'd recommend getting a TOL (AWN542) instead. Much better for selling purposes imo.

    Dead SQ AWS76

We finally checked the troubleshooting guide in our washer manual. Motor overload protection is mentioned about eight times :)
