Gas or electric?

Nothing like high-class dust. I have heard that the electroic air cleaners are so effecitve that dust becomes white instead of black. The larger particles (above 3 microns IIRC) are collected so the smaller ones that get past the filter are white for some reason. Calcium from the humdifier...

My mom bought hers (of similar style) in '66 (W)and '68 (D). The washer was $250 new for an A206. At the time I was told that was a week's pay give or take. The a206 that mother had included: H-W-C water temp selections. A "hot" wash gave a warm rinse. Warm and cold wash gave a cold rinse...

Isn't getting old GRAND! ..and considering I was a renter without a washer for a number of years and would do 8 loads of laundry twice a month, for years, I am perplexed that I have forgotten.

~Re: Crossover washer Those were introduced in the 1983/84 time frame. Kenmore had belt-drive 24-inch machines that appeared similar immediately before that, and so when the DD hit the market they made them look the same... My mother just got rid of hers because it died. a 24" model from 1984...
