    Electrolux in America

They're changing the positioning to that? Bizarre. Would make far more sense to have the main ones as : Zanussi -> Electrolux -> AEG With Tricity Bendix/Bendix as a cheaper option not sold everywhere, and the John Lewis own brand machines as equivalent to Electrolux roughly.

    The New Hotpoint's Are Here!

Also, the dishwashers look like Hoovers last lot - rejects?

    The New Hotpoint's Are Here!

They're not attractive machines, and have been designed to look better in 'fashionable' graphite type colours. Also a bit design for design's sake kind of thing. That one dryer with the knob not in the centre looks really weird as well.

    Haier????

Which? said they were average - alright cleaning, poor rinsing and noisy. If he wants to spend that amount - could get a low-mid range Zanussi, or Tricity/Bendix. Or a Beko, which may be better.

    someone ID this FL washer

It's a UK Hoover - but I'll leave someone better able than me to tell you the model!

    French automatic washers at work!

Funguy - go to the website written in the post. It's there. Interesting video - thanks for posting it :)

    Parential Responsibility

Time outs !!!!!!!!! I laugh when I hear that. Negotiating is for kidnappers and terrorists....NOT CHILDREN!!! Oh nonsense. I mean, yes, if a kid is demanding a Merc in exchange for not wrecking the house, then there's bigger problems than can be solved with negotiation, but if a kid is upset...

Consumer Reports tests the 2008 washers

"You have the Whirlpool Cabrio twice." Looks like two different model numbers to me...

    Which Magazine January Test Results

Which? test the standard cycles, and they usually mention if a modifier will help with any problems at all. The new Bosch and Siemens machines, along with some of the Electrolux group and Miele machines, seem to be getting better at rinsing.

    New washing machine shopping

Funguy, have you posted any videos of machines? Seems half of what you post is asking for videos!

    Ebay UK November 2007

I think it's a different type of beast altogether Darren.

    Funky Colour Washers 'Picture Thread'

I blame Volkswagen - they had the Polo Harlequin with similar coloured panels. I wonder why they did it,and why those colours. Weird. That Smeg looks rather like a Gorenje.

Where Did HE Washers Get Thier Names?

FunGuy - It's called subject drift :) It's not like the thread was started about cars, just happened to be a drift in the subject of daft names things are called...

Where Did HE Washers Get Thier Names?

We had the Vauxhall Nova in the UK as well (different car though), which in the rest of Europe was the Opel Corsa. It's been the Corsa in the UK for the last couple of generations (probably about 14-15 years). The Passat is actually named after the wind. VW (and Maserati and Hholden too) named...

    hotpoint FDW80???

Get the Beko. It's a much better machine by accounts than the Hotpoint/Indesit machines. Hotpoint were good when BSH made the dishwashers, but the Indesit ones are poor.

    Gaggenau?

Miele fridges and freezers are Liebherr built, not Bosch-Siemens. They may use similar unseen bits, I don't know, but they're not the same as BSH. Gaggenau, I think, do have a few odd special features that you don't get on other BSH branded machines - though mostly it's styling.

    New black smeg washer!

Probably a better machine than the plain Smeg-made machines, not fond of the black though. Also, looks better than the ridiculous ones designed to match the fridges.

    Miele Bobload?? (part 1)

Le Creuset is fine in the dishwasher, though not if it has wooden handles.

    Hier Front Load Washer

Not necessarily true Pulsator - some basic FL machines have used a timed fill rather than pressure. Not sure which Haier machine this is, but it could be using that.
