Here's the results of tonight's (fried chicken with jasmine rice and gravy, turnip greens and fresh tomatoes) dinner dishes, pots and pans, etc in all 3 racks of my Miele PremierePlus. Hopefully, one Cascade w/Dawn action pack, combined with a 2 hour and 22 minute 170 F "Pots and Pans" wash will get it all sparklin' clean! (Yes, I know, it's a sin to put Le Crueset cookware in the dishwasher..but I'm lazy..shoot me!)

Miele Bobload (part 5)

Oops..here's a shot of the third rack...silverware. What the heck's the point of having three racks if you don't show all three as part of hopeful Bobload certification??

... and the results??

Can't wait to see the results. I especially appreciated the pics of the silverware tray. I load mine a little differently, and I learned something today. How much detergent did you use? Did you put it in both cups? I normally use about 20ml and only in the main wash cup, and I find that things wash beautifully.
Another little pointer (not that anyone is asking but I have to share this)... I was having a problem with not enough water coming into the machine on the first rinse only, even after increasing the fill time. The machine would wash ok, but it would make a shwooshing sound, like there was air mixed with the water coming through the spray pump. (I didn't pay for a noisy Miele!) It turned out that the flow restrictor on the inlet hose had somehow misformed over time. Replacing it completely resolved the problem.
Waiting for the "after" pics,
John.

Le Crueset in the machine

is not a sin. Plain cast iron in the machine, however....is another story.

The sin, if there so be, is in just one colour of Fiesta! Fiesta is supposed to be mixed. I have Juniper, White, Cinnabar, Cobalt, and am thinking of Persimmon.

Otherwise, a beautiful thread, and thank you for posting it!

Very nice Dishwasher!
However.... 2 Hours and 22 minutes???
My KDS - 18 would have had it done in about 45 minutes. Dry included.
I don't get these long run times......

It's definite BobLoad certified. Nice amount of food on plates. I'd love to see what the pots had looked like too. And it's loaded well.

I see nothing wrong with one-color Fiestaware. I'd probably do the same thing. I don't like mismatched stuff like that.

Le Crueset????

I think I am gonna faint!!!!!!!
Can it really be put in the dishwasher????
All those man hours doing ours by hand..... what a waste!!!

Le Crueset is perfectly dishwasher safe. Plain cast iron, of course, is not. Have had mine for years and years, no fading, discoloration, or wear of the interior surfaces. It's the flame red color. I've don't think I've ever used chlorine based detergents on it, so maybe that's the difference? Always enzyme detergent. Most of it cleans just fine on the Normal cycle in the GE. I don't think I've ever handwashed any of it since I HATE washing dishes, let alone pots.

Yes, that is the exception - the wood handles on the older LeCrueset will darken in the dishwasher and eventually turn ashen gray/white.

Well,
99% of the load came out sparkling clean with just one Cascade Action pack with Dawn. In the upper rack pic, in the lower left hand corner, you'll see a small white custard cup. It's sitting on the flip-down shelf directly above a pot lid, and didn't get any spray action. My husbear is legally blind, and when he unloaded the Miele, he didn't notice that it wasn't clean! Boy, I noticed it that evening when I pulled it out of the cupboard to get my nightly (small) fix of Ultimate Moose Tracks ice cream!

I have a TON of "tur-kwazz" Fiesta, most new, some old. I can't see mixing up colors of Fiesta, my OCD won't allow it, and I only own tur-kwazz. I too, have been washing the Le Creuset in the Miele for years, and in the Maytag before it. The rims of the pots are beginning to rust a wee bit, but I think that's from a spell of el-cheapo Walgreen's "Sunsations" dollar-a-box detergent. I haven't noticed it happening with the Cascade.

Someone posted "The machine (his Miele) would wash ok, but it would make a shwooshing sound, like there was air mixed with the water coming through the spray pump. (I didn't pay for a noisy Miele!) It turned out that the flow restrictor on the inlet hose had somehow misformed over time. Replacing it completely resolved the problem."

Mine does the EXACT same thing, though only when it's doing a "top solo" load. The thing sounds like it's starved for water! I add a mason jar or two of hot water to the tub, and it quiets right down! I wonder why it only happens on Top Solo? It's still under it's 2-year warranty, and I've thought about getting the repairman over to see about it. But the last and only time he was out, he barely knew how to turn the thing on! He certainly wasn't the cute Miele shirt clad man in the brochure wearing little booties to protect my floors!

Oh well, I only do "Top Solo" loads occasionally, and I've learned the mason jar workaround. But still, for a machine that retailed for $2,495.00 (I paid half that as a floor model)you'd have thought I wouldn't have to "go to the well" to get enough water for a top rack only load.

I purposefully didn't let Barney the "pre-washing Beagle" get to the plates, tho' he dearly wanted to! I wanted to see if I could get a Bobload clean with one Action Pack, and now I'm certified!

(sniff) You like me, you really like me! (sniff)

...sounds like a problem to me

I'm the guy that had the water inlet problem. The Indian (east) guy that came to the house to investigate my complaint was movie star handsome in his crisp uniform but not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. He first tried to convince me that this noise was completely normal, that he hears it all the time. It was only by making him listen to the noise, then opening the door, pouring in one cup of water, and restarting with no noise after adding the water that he acknowledged the issue. He got on the phone with the Miele technical center, and the guy at "Miele central" guided him right to the problem. It took him less than 10 minutes to replace the part.

Based upon the initial assessment of my repairman, it sounds like there may be lots of Miele's out there with the same problem. After replacing that resrictor, mine continues to run very quietly and cleans beautifully.
John.
