I've seen some reviews of the WK versions of these machines and they're not good. Noisy, poor at drying synthetics, inefficient. Depends if you're willing to take the risk of it being either good or bad. Seems like it may be hit or miss, like many other WKs

I don't remember older German machines (AEG, Bosch) that I've used having the hoses at the top, I remember them as being at the bottom. Same with older Zanussi machines too. Saying that, though, I couldn't tell you where the drain hose comes out on my current machine... :)

Probably the heater? It's not likely to solely be the heater, as otherwise the machine would keep running and running, or flashing up an error code, when it is not reaching 95/60 or, well, any temperature. There is more likely some error in a sensor or the control board. Granted, the heater...
