    My new zanussi fl812!

Ah, I really like these machines. They seemed to last and last and were quiet too.

    New Samsung Washer

As I think I said when this was discussed in a previous thread, I'm not keen on the look of it, and not entirely keen on touchscreen being the only controls. I also think it is very expensive.

Buying a new washing machine (Ireland/Europe) need advice..

glenfieldmathk- what sort of dryer is your Hotpoint - vented or condenser? It's the condenser ones that seem to be not so good. I also found, when helping with laundry, that they get very hot unless using low heat settings - even hotter than Bosch/Siemens machines. iej - are you looking for a...

Buying a new washing machine (Ireland/Europe) need advice..

Blomberg machines, as far as I know, are Beko internally - they're part of the same Arcelik group. The others are Vestel based I think. Some more recent Beko machines haven't had good reviews regarding cleaning or rinsing, but others seem to be ok. Bear in mind when looking at cycle times that...

AEG Lavamat 2000... Yes... there's still one out there. Help?

Great! :) It's not at all uncommon for manufacturers to change parts during a product lifecycle when suppliers change, or to increase reliability, or decrease costs etc. Any number of reasons.

    Your washload in pics!

It seems, these days, like companies claim their programmes are 'anti stain' or 'super eco' to cover up the fact that they take such a ridiculously long time. 2.5 hrs or longer for a 4kg load is silly, no need for it.

AEG Lavamat 2000... Yes... there's still one out there. Help?

Just a thought, and this could be a stupid question... is it a washer or a washer-dryer? I think there was a 2000 of each.

Servis like I have never seen before!

I remember seeing them in Currys once, and only once. They weren't cheap, so can't imagine they sold many. There was also another one that I only ever saw once - a stainless steel machine with blue lit electronic controls. Not sure who made it for them as it didn't look like a normal Antonio...

    I am back

George, don't talk nonsense. Indesit company (and therefore Hotpoint) would never be able to get away with specifying the concrete block to be so insubstantial that it would break up with the regularity that you seem to be insinuating. While Hotpoint are not the most reliable brand on the...

Which are the Best Sellers of your country?

If you look at quantitative data, you can see from surveys such as those done by Which? that Hotpoint and Hoover still are a bit behind other manufacturers in terms of reliability, though both are considerably better than they were in the past. Hoover is currently the only brand that they hold...

    Ariston

Looks very much like the new dialogic will be smart phone compatibility with wifi capability. And will be fridges as well as washing machines. Interesting to see that a) their market share is decreasing, though they are still making a small profit on sales and b) that they're ramping up a...

All you need to know about 18" dishwashers,

As Gabriele says, it's a shame that the salesman is talking at least half nonsense. I have seen very few 18" dishwashers in homes of friends and family, the 24" ones being far more common. He's also incorrect about the Bosch tablet catcher (you don't put the tablet in there, else it would...

Samsung EU smart Washing Machine May 2014

I'm not a huge fan based on initial look at it. The huge door isn't really going to stop bending down by the looks of it, as the drum and drum opening appears to be in the same place, just the door is different. Don't like the dispenser being where it is either - I can't be bothered with auto...

    Grundig are here!

They are Arcelik machines - so same as Beko and Blomberg. I have to say that the current crop of Arcelik dryers in particular look very similar to recent ranges of BSH dryers, with similar designs of drum, air flow etc. I suspect vented dryers are being phased out a bit because of energy...

    Does Hotpoint Anti-stain Really Work?

Yes, I did read your post, and I looked on the Hotpoint website. When I looked, and selected anti-stain, there were only round door machines showing up. If that's not the case, then feel free to ignore my previous point. 2 years isn't 'new technology' though. For your other points I would say...

    Hydro-drive Washing Machine

Pierre - everyone knows that you prefer a top loader, so you don't need to keep reminding us all of that fact. Besides, when you say 6-10 minute wash you are talking about just the wash part of the cycle yes? The 12 minute cycle is wash, rinse and spin - a gimmick, but it's there.

    Does Hotpoint Anti-stain Really Work?

The other point I would make is that to me, when a manufacturer advertises their anti-stain machines with examples of cleaning by one of them and a non-anti-stain machine showing the stains still visible... well, that'd put me off buying one of them because I'd think the machine without anti...

    Does Hotpoint Anti-stain Really Work?

Glenfield - firstly, I don't think the program on your machine is the "will remove 20 stains" one, as they are advertising that as new now with their current range. I think these anti stain programs are a bit of a waste of time really - if you use the correct programs with the right amount of...

Mueller Special has finally hit the market.

dave - I've never heard of any European standard measure being in 'wet weight'... Far as I know it's always measured in dry weight capacity :)

    Bosch WTW86560GB Tumble Dryer

I do wonder if the BSH machines run a little hotter than some Electrolux ones from the past 5-10 years, as I've noticed a few items shrinking slightly even on low heat. Nothing too much though. Creasing can be an issue at times, and sheets etc. can sometimes be fine and sometimes ball up. Even...
