    My grandparents first automatic was a Whirlpool combo!!! My grandma said they had to get rid of it when it kept having "lint problems". Boy you should've seen the look on their faces when I told them there was only one working model left in the world.

    The old SS solid tub Speed Queens (as long as the fluid drive is good) got up to speed pretty fast, especially Robert's with the 700 rpm spin pulley! Unimatics didn't have a clutch so they accelerate perhaps faster than any other washer, and of course get all the way to 1140. I think throwing...

    Not sure exactly, but I would assume it has to do with the design of the motor and transmission.
