Indesit now phasing out the Ariston Name?

They are still using "Hotpoint-Ariston" for France, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. Like Australia, they sell their appliances badged as Ariston in the US, obviously due to the fact GE own and use the Hotpoint trademark over there. http://www.hotpoint-ariston.com/ha/

How to freshen a FL Washer?

There is a good write up about choosing detergents here: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=114

    IKEA Question

The previous owners installed an IKEA kitchen in our flat (I'd assume its a couple of years old). The issue I have with them is that there is no recess at the back of the carcass for pipes etc. This has caused the previous owners to run the gas pipe for the hob inside the cupboard, underneath...

big Problems with Candy/Hoover in Germany

... and here is a pic of our Hoover's drum seam that will have the same kind of seam on the Hoover/Candy machines that exploded. I checked today and the Indesit drum now fitted to Hotpoints also has this kind of seam:

Just for a comparison, here is the drum seam from my parents Hotpoint WF541 that has the recently phased out Hotpoint drum:

    Tefal Actifry.........

Talking about Chips, Fanny Cradock probably has the best way of cooking them (my Grandma did them this way as well!):

I'm sorry to hear that - you should have more joy with a Miele though!

@nrones I've never tried them but I've read that they don't work. It's not a big deal for me since they were virtually dry anyway.

big Problems with Candy/Hoover in Germany

@nrones: My mistake, I'm getting my terms mixed up, I believe the terms screw and welded refer to how the outer tub is assembled. The older Hotpoint drums have a different drum seam to the Candy and Indesit drums. I’m assuming that the seams could be a weak part in the drum and that could be...

big Problems with Candy/Hoover in Germany

Coincidentally, Hotpoint have recently transitioned from using a screwed drum to the standard Indesit welded drum.

Presenting the Hoover OPH616 washing machine...

I've been caught out with the draw/door a few times, mainly when I've been filling up the draw and noticed that I'd forgotten to add something to the wash. It was also spotted on the Which reviews for the Candy/Dynamic/Vision models as well. My Hoover cools down when the temp is set to 90...

big Problems with Candy/Hoover in Germany

That's good, as far as I know Indesit only released information on their affected models via a tech bulletin that was then leaked. http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2533

big Problems with Candy/Hoover in Germany

Indesit/Hotpoint are apparently fitting securing braces to thier models that are at risk, this is supposed to fix the issue (that remains to be seen). What are Candy doing with their models that are at risk?

big Problems with Candy/Hoover in Germany

This is also starting to happen with some Indesit/Hotpoint machines as well.

Presenting the Hoover OPH616 washing machine...

Thanks for the pics and info. I've checked on Which, and your parent's machine scores very well. I quite like the look of the machine; the powder draw design looks like a nod to the Nextras. Can you can open/close the powder draw when the door is open? I can't do that with mine. In regards to...

@nrones: It didn’t do too bad, just the duvet cover and one pillow case was slightly damp in places, an extra 30 minutes sorted it out. It's probably because they got tangled together at some point.

While there is apathy towards Hoover/Candy, that should not put you off starting another thread. I'd like to hear your experiences with your Parents OPH616!!

    Programmes you are always using

@superelectronic: I think you are right about it being perhaps a good idea on paper, no one else does a slim line washer dryer (as far as I know) which is perhaps saying something. Unfortunately we simply don't have the space for a separate tumble dryer as our Kitchen is very small and their is...

    Programmes you are always using

My main concern is that the door catch may not align properly with the lock and may damage it in the long term; but I suppose the warranty will take care of it if its a issue! We are off to my partners parents for a late Christmas dinner in rural Northumberland and I've left it washing the...
