Question about additional washer hook up.

Additional Washer Hook-Up I have two washers that share a 'Y' spigot, and if you only fill one at a time it doesn't affect the fill time. I usually run the two of them at the same time, however if one is filling and the other is doing a spray rinse (these are Kenmore's) the pressure on the...

    POR15 Durability

I used POR-15 about 2 years ago on the inside of a Kenmore outer TUB and so far no leaks. Prep is the key. POR makes a Metal Prep product which says you can use on shiny metal and aluminum too. It etches the surface. Check out their website, www.por15.com. I've never used the metal prep...

    Kenmore Belt-Drive Blower service manual

Does anybody where I can get a Kenmore Belt-Drive Blower Clothes Dryer Service manual? I've seen the manuals for the newer ones on EBAY, but not the older ones. I'm specifically looking how to take apart the blower assembly. I'm not even sure if that manual would show how to do that. Guess...

    Bosch Dishwasher install help

I'm installing a new Bosch dishwasher, and it has a screw at the bottom of the front toe kick area to adjust the rear leveling leg, but when I turn the screw the mechanism that turns the leg seems to be stripped. The screw turns but then there is a snapping sound, and the leg does not move. I...

    Slow Spin on Kenmore Washer

I have a Kenmore Washer (1971 model) that I rebuilt a few months ago (took apart the gearcase), basket drive, etc..and oiled the bearings. It seems to spin slowly when the load is a bit heavy, like if a few big towels or a blanket are washed. When the load is fairly light, it spins fast...

    Washer Timer Lubrication

Thanks John. The reason I want to try to lubricate this timer is that it is a little hard to turn, and also every once in a while when it advances, it makes a loud pop sound, so I figured it may need to be lubricated. I'll see if that solves the problem. Otherwise it does work ok and doesn't...

    Washer Timer Lubrication

I need to lubricate this washer timer, I have some contact cleaner which I will use for this. Can anyone tell me where it should be sprayed? I see some plastic gears, I assume those should be sprayed. Do I need to remove it from the panel? How about the timer motor, should that be lubricated...

    Out with the red...

Very nice! I like the glass back splash above the stove. What color is that wall where the phone is? Looks like a dark gray, whatever it goes well. I have a white kitchen too, and that wall color you have looks good with the white cabinets. It's giving me an idea.

Kenmore Belt Drive Blower Dryer questions

Rear Drum Seal Thanks kenmoreman and all you guys for your replies. The reason I want to take off the rear drum seal is because I may have the interior of the drum powder coated, it's in rough shape and I have a friend that can do this, but the felt seals (front and rear) need to come off. So...

Kenmore Belt Drive Blower Dryer questions

Motor rebuild I'm also debating whether or not to change the bearings in the 50+ year old motor on this Kenmore Dryer. They sound ok, but since I have everything apart I thought I'd just do it. Just wondering if any of you guys usually rebuild the motors (the serviceable ones) on the older...

Kenmore Belt Drive Blower Dryer questions

Thanks Kevin, Actually, the copper wire is not broken, it's that 'CLAY' piece that came off which looks like it holds it attached to the housing. That is what I will need to use to re-attach it, I'm just not sure what that substance is and want to use the right stuff.

Kenmore Belt Drive Blower Dryer questions

I'm restoring a 1962 Kenmore Belt Drive Blower Electric Dryer (MODEL 110.6218500) and have a few questions. I saw another post about this but didn't want to hog that post and there may be some differences between the two machines. In picture #1, how does the fan blade come off? Do you hold...

Hard Water deposits on exterior of spin basket

I tried experimenting with removing the hard water deposits on the exterior of this Kenmore spin basket. I was debating whether to leave it alone, since I tried everything possible to remove them, CLR and scrubbing didn't work. This is over 40 years of crud. So I took a 4 inch round steel...

    The RED DOT

Thanks guys, one question though: Can the nylon insert be removed? Could it just be pried out with a small screwdriver? I would only need to remove it in case I need to adjust the nut after I put the transmission back into the machine. It didn't need adjusting before but I don't know if it...

    The RED DOT

On this Kenmore clutch shaft. Does anybody know what this is? I though it may have been some sort of set screw but it doesn't look like that. Thanks

    Kenmore Gearcase question

I've just re-built the gearcase for my Kenmore washer, and it seems like the top of agitator shaft spring is snagging inside the agitator spring shield which goes on top of the spring. I hear this when I manually turn the main drive pulley. It happens when the sector gear goes back and forth...

    Kenmore Spin Pulley Bearing Replacement

Hi Ben, Thanks for you response, I actually saw your thread on this while searching the archives. What is that device that you used to press out and install the bearing? I don't have anything like that so I was wondering if there is another way to do it, otherwise I will probably have to take...

    Kenmore Spin Pulley Bearing Replacement

I was removing the spin pulley from the spin tube and on the spin tube it was scored a little near the top from the seal, and when I twisted off the pulley I think it scored the inside of the bearing (see pics). I probably shouldn't have done that, but do you guys think I should replace this...

Vintage Black & White Admiral Television

I have this 1955 Admiral Black & White TV, and while it is not a high end model I'd like to have it fixed. It will need the usual, new caps/resistors and the tubes need to be checked. The last time it was turned on was about 15 years ago, and it worked at the time but the picture was very...
