My mom's dishwasher died after 23 years of non-stop work. It was a SIEMENS wich really served us well. Now she has a new Gorenje with a stainless steel interface. 3 racks (including one for cutlery) 16 place settings capacity automatic door opening (that's cool) ... here are some pictures...

Well, the italian DASH for example has blue granules that in contact with water they dissolve and turns to some kind of bluing agent to make whites whiter. But some older formulations of the italian DASH had so much bluing in it that turned certain tissues not only into "whiter whites" as...

No I don't and never had. I use only laundry detergents. Mainly powders but also liquids. I use soap occasionally, just to pretreat some stains. Ingemar

I use both... ... powders and liquids. But when washing Whites I use strictly and only powder. So liquids are used for colored laundry.

liamy1 You said just fine! You're right, the number of loads depends on many factors and habits. And then for example someone may have a very large washing machine but doesn't fill it to the capacity so that one load will become three loads. What you said about the volume of washers is true...
