    San Francisco

Thanks guys! We probably are going to hire a car while were there. I've been over to America 6 times, 4 times to Florida, once to New York and done a Fly drive from Florida to New Orleans. I'll show show my other half the places and see what he thinks! He already found the Stinking Rose so were...

    San Francisco

My Partner and I are getting married in April and are going to spend our honeymoon in San Francisco. Just asking you folks what you recommend doing there! We are going for five nights from April 27th. Going to do the usual things like see Alcatraz etc however I have always been fascinated by...

    Resounding recommendation for GE appliances

I was thinking that myself. Also with the glass in the dishwasher. Mine stopped because of that but I didn't blame the machine! I found the broken glass in the cupboard later that day. I'd rather it stopped than damage the pump! Fair enough though, I guess the rest are G.E.'s fault! David

    Beko new dishwasher UK

Looks good! However... I never saw a pre rinse cycle on the machine. I have only ever used it on mine a a handful of times but I would never buy a machine that doesn't have one! I have a Bosch dishwasher that has the auto 55-65, eco 50 and the quick wash programmes. It only gets annoying when...

can anyone help me identify a servis?

Just noticed this thread! My neighbours had the hybrid quartz. We moved away in 1993 so it was out before then. It was a strange machine. When it started the spin cycle it would drain the water and would pulse the motor, the pulses getting closer and closer together until the machine got to...

    Zanussi WDi9091 on eBay

My auntie and uncle bought this machine new in 1987 but my uncle worked for a builders merchants so I don't know if it was the current model or old stock. It was pretty much the same as the FL machines with the induction motors. Was an amazing machine! I think it is what started it all for me...

buzzers on tumble dryers in the UK

Yes, that fine tuning was in my machines manual. It says it is for selecting the water hardness in your area. Scotland has soft water so mine is set for the minimum setting and have had no problems with the dryness levels. Strange that your machine doesn't advertise that! David

buzzers on tumble dryers in the UK

I have a Zanussi TCE7227 condenser dryer from 2007. Its has optional beeps. There on by default but there is a button to turn them off. Would be nice if it was the other way around. I only use it when drying something in a rush! David

bendix, hotpoint and servis dishwashers from the 1980's

Hotpoint Dishwashers Bosch made the matching dishwashers to the 9000 range of machines. They did not look really like laundry appliances. We had a dishwasher and a washer drier. The dishwasher was fantastic! Lasted for 15 years and got scrapped because of a rusted bottom. No idea about the...

    Hoover Autosense

I'm sure this came out during the Classica/ New Wave era. It was the budget dryer i believe. Don't think there was a matching machine though. Never saw one in the brochure. David

    A rare Hotpoint on eBay

Hi Ultimafan! My parents had a 9934 for 5 years before it broke down. Did you ever see the machine on a spin cycle? I remember it done a burst, tumbled twice then distributed, then span for longer. Never seen any other Hotpoint do this nor has anyone heard of one doing so! Probably because of...

What's a condenser dryer and how to clean it? (VIDEO)

Thank you for the extra info! I cleaned it out yesterday and it seems to be faster! The only thing thats annoying about my dryer is that I have extra insulation at the rear. Its got a sort of cage packed full of it. Theres still the hole for the air intake obviously! I always take the vacuum to...

What's a condenser dryer and how to clean it? (VIDEO)

Facinating! I have the same dryer. Well almost, I have the Zanussi/ Electrolux TCE7227. I find it pretty nifty! I have had it for two years and have deep cleaned it once 6 months ago. I never thought to take off the back, I just got to all the parts I could from the condenser door. Is it pretty...

    Hometime Shocker

I saw that not too long ago. They replaced it with a Beko! Shameful viewing! There was another episode when a woman had a Phillips series 90 stacked set and that got tossed out for a BOL Whirlpool and a BOL Hotpoint Tumble dryer! Mind you, i wouldn't have used the dryer because she was using it...

    Hoover Electron 600 On Ebay

My parents first washing machine was a round door electron. I think or was the 800 rpm model. Don't remember much about it except for the boil washes if done for nappies! My folks had a Hoover tumble dryer too. It had a square door. The washing machine broke down in 1989 and the dryer was sold...
