In my recently renovated kitchen I had all new GE appliances installed in stainless. I like the appliances, but I hate the stainless. I think it’s hard to keep clean. I do clean then with a little Murphy’s oil soap and water once a week and it keeps them looking good.
I concur with Yogitunes I would take everything out of it and unplug it over night and replug it. I had a Samsung and whirlpool where the same thing would happen and that always fixed it.

I have a compact Food Saver brand vacuum saver. It has been one of the best gifts I received. I have had it about 6 years now. I also use bags from Ebay or Amazon, off brand works great. I often buy quart size bags and I buy the rolls.

I have polyester sheers in every room of my house and I always wash them. I never dry them, I hang them right back up. I wouldn't wash lined curtains. I use the gentle cycle.

Asbestos exposure is only a concern if you are breathing it in for a long period of time. It may not have been asbestos anyway. My basement floor is asbestos tile and I have lived in this house for many years.
