Let them stay till the funk rolls away

Have to say it again... I have owned a Frigidaire FL made for the American market (not made in USA, sad to say) for just short of a year now and I have NEVER had any issues with mold or odors. I just read the owner's manual before the "maiden" wash and have thus made a habit of leaving the door...

New washer test bei "Stiftung Warentest"

Stiftung Warentest So how does Stiftung Warentest measure up against it's US counterpart? I recall different items, from orange juice to food processors, being tested and rated "gut", "sehr gut", etc. I'm not entirely sure that I trust CR anymore..

New washer test bei "Stiftung Warentest"

That sucks... They want you to pay 5,00 € to read the damn thing. Kind of like CR here.

    AEG ÖkoKombi Heatpump-Washer-Dryer

Ob das gut geht.... "Made in Germany" has always been something like a sign for quality. Since AEG can no longer put "Made in Germany" on their washers, one wonders what this will do for the brands reputation... Kind of like Bauknecht being made by Whirlpool. As I recall, Whirlpool is...

    AEG ÖkoKombi Heatpump-Washer-Dryer

So where are AEG's washers made now? I bought an Öko Lavamat in 1998 and it was still "Made in Germany" (obviously) and did not have an Electrolux emblem on it.

I see AEG is now sporting the Electrolux logo. When did that happen?

Water level / temp. in new Frigidaire FL'ers

I think the Samsung is actually more user-friendly to adjust the water level. I watched a video of it being done on youtube. Their WLS has an adjustable screw in it. The Frigidaire/Electrolux washers have no such screw. They are sealed units and in order to get more water out of them, one must...

Water level / temp. in new Frigidaire FL'ers

It has something like a sprinkler but it's really only a water inlet for the detergent drawer. This washer has no recirculation pump or onboard heater or even drum light for that matter. Very BOL.

Water level / temp. in new Frigidaire FL'ers

I may do a little fine tuning of the modification because it would be nice to see some real water action in the wash and rinses. Before, there was almost no difference between watching the dryer and the washer. There is also just as much water in the rinses as in the wash. Before, the rinses...

Water level / temp. in new Frigidaire FL'ers

How I did it.. as described in another thread here (the name of which I can't remember), Martin says to use a water bottle, punching balloon, car window washer hose and T connector. The original water bottle had holes punched in it to allow for the expansion of the balloon (air displacement)...

Water level / temp. in new Frigidaire FL'ers

"Bulky" after the most impressive result of all, the "Bulky" water level after modifying the WLS. The water level comes almost right up to the top of the boot:

Water level / temp. in new Frigidaire FL'ers

Just wanted to let everyone share in the modest success I have had here in raising the water level and un-dumbing the water temps in my 2012 Frigidaire FL. It would not have been possible without Martin's (Yogi) help. I did not remember to take pics of the unplugged sensor wire at the...

    New Dishwasher Suggestions?

I just bought a portable Whirlpool DW in June and have been very happy with it. Everything comes out dry and spotless. It's not overly loud and doesn't take too long in my opinion. Can't say anything about water usage. Most new appliances nowadays don't use hardly any water anyway.

AHA! It worked! What would I do without Martin? ;-)

How to get True Hot Wash

Ah, okay. I'm looking forward to it. This would normally be a good machine but they just built in some REALLY stupid stuff, like the impossibly low water level and the tepid "hot" wash temp. If I get it all done right I'll have to post some before and after pics...

to change one's profile picture? I hit "erase" and then it wouldn't let me upload anything new. Now I'm faceless....(maybe that's better?)
