    Cleaning Modern Refrigerator Condenser Coils

It's a messy process, and I wouldn't recommend doing it in an occupied home, but my Dad used to do maintenance for a couple apartment complexes, and when he was doing a clean out after someone had moved out, he would pull the fridge out and take a leaf blower to it. Always got a lot of dust out...

Maytag Neptune 3000 won't complete final spin...

I'm now wondering if maybe the door was just out of alignment.. I tried it today and with no modification or input on my part it worked perfectly twice. I'm going tp start cleaning it up and run a few loads through to see where we are at.

Maytag DG310 Propane to Natural gas conversion?

Pretty well cleaned up, will need a good wipe down anyway, my friend is hoping to be in his house within the next month or so and I said I'd hold onto it.

Maytag DG310 Propane to Natural gas conversion?

I did check in the cabinet, but not the control panel. It's all cleaned out now and ready to be re converted, that and a new light bulb and it should be good to go.

Maytag DG310 Propane to Natural gas conversion?

Would it be safe to run if I just replace the orifice or would it be better to do both? And also if it makes a difference, it's a DG510 rather than 310, must not have seen it properly yesterday...

Maytag DG310 Propane to Natural gas conversion?

This is an older "stream of heat" dryer from around 1982 according to one result here- the lint filter is in the front, woodgraim control panel, white buttons. Will definitely try to get pictures!

Maytag Neptune 3000 won't complete final spin...

So, it sat for a while and I decided to have a look at it (because I need a decent set to give a friend) and it turns out the wax motor has been replaced at some point (and seems to be defective) It starts moving to the right when the cycle is started, appears to contact the first switch, and...

Maytag DG310 Propane to Natural gas conversion?

I picked up a Maytag DG310 for a friend that's buying his first house soon, and found out after I got home that it had been converted to propane. I'm 99.9% sure my friend's house has natural gas. The dryer seems to be in excellent condition but has not been connected to any gas supply yet...

Frigidaire 12,000 btu window A/C- Fan Motor repair or replace?

I think the problem is that the bearings themselves aren't sealed, and the motor housing has a "seal" on each end, but they are mainly just covers- one is rubber but not tight to the shaft, and the other is plastic but has a drain hole underneath and is even less sealed than the other one. It...

Frigidaire 12,000 btu window A/C- Fan Motor repair or replace?

So I found a window A/C on facebook marketplace, and I've been looking for a smaller unit to replace my bedroom one (just basically worn out) and it was only $20, the catch being it only cooled for 10 minutes, then made a funny noise and blew warm air. Around here I've seen/gotten several units...

    My New Whirlpool

If the motor runs, and it agitates and drains but won't spin or barely spins, you most likely have a bad clutch. Inexpensive part and super easy repair (even though you do have to pull the transmission) that took me less than half an hour the first time. Definitely worth fixing.

The worst part about all that is the water level is the same through all the fills, only about 2" without clothes and sometimes no standing water at all and partially dry clothes in the wash. Rinses are the same 2 or so inches. We had clothes come out still very warm after a hot wash/cold rinse...

    2012 Ford Fusion SEL

Proceed with caution... I've never known anyone that has owned a Ford and not had problems. Some minor, others major. Here in Michigan, Fords are the first to rust out, that should say something for the quality. I own a Toyota (Prius) and absolutely love it. Most trouble free and reliable car...

We had that black Frigidaire set and all I can say is run far, far away. The washer never washed very well, Warm water was basically cold, it rinsed very poorly, and had little flexibility in the cycles and options, but it was fairly reliable, after 8 years of heavy use it only ever needed a new...

I've gathered that it's a gas dryer, maybe pinched gas line?

    Dehumidifier

Ours is a 30 pint SoleusAir that's about 4 years old and has worked great without an issue. Once the float in the tank got stuck and it overflowed but hasn't happened again. If it dies we would probably replace it with the same brand. It runs pretty much constantly April-October and hasn't...

    Air Conditioners

Well, sounds like my bedroom unit is on borrowed time.. Managed to get rid of the squeaking/squealing but now it rattles. Plus the coils are pretty corroded, likely from a mistake years ago when it had a bad case of black mildew... Soaked the whole thing down inside and out with straight...

Maytag Neptune MAH5500 intermittent burning smell?

Still using the Maytag Neptune, and it's working fairly well, but on a few occasions I've noticed an acrid burning smell after the final spin. I would normally think bearings, but it spins smooth and very quiet. Has always been on a large load of normal clothes, regardless of temperature. We...

    Air Conditioners

We have a 1998 7800 btu Panasonic in the living room, and absolutely love it. Super quiet and ice cold. A 5100 Btu 1997 Hampton Bay (Fedders) in my room. Ice cold and typically very quiet, but the fan motor started squeaking tonight, will dig in tomorrow and see if it can be oiled, would hate to...
