    Whirlpool dishwasher heating issue

Yes, that was the part number. Element seemed slightly longer in length and fit slightly tighter through the tub holes, but it wasn't genuine Whirlpool.. I figured same part number, a heating element is a heating element? Maybe not? I'd rather not replace the element again but if that is my...

    Whirlpool dishwasher heating issue

I ordered the same part number Whirlpool had listed, fit was a little tight but no modification of anything was needed. Old element broke in two when removing it so would have been hard to measure. I can check the part number from my order if you happen to know the correct one. I've never seen a...

    Whirlpool dishwasher heating issue

And.. It did it again. I did stop it before the element got totally orange, but it was definitely starting to glow. Smelled slightly of burnt rubber when I opened the door. I had to stop it within about 5 minutes of the element coming on, and it never cycled off. Dishwasher is now unplugged...

    Whirlpool dishwasher heating issue

Yes, it was completely orange. Totally cold when it's off, though and I have been leaving the door open. I will unplug it after the cycle, the connection is easily accessible. I ran another load last night (sensor cycle) and it worked fine. Element never glowed, dishes dried normally. I'm...

Is this normal for auto dry?

I have a gas Whirlpool that sounds exactly as you describe.. A rapid clicking and clunking sound. It's slightly annoying but working as designed.

    Whirlpool dishwasher heating issue

I have a Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT710PAYM6), from about 2014. It replaced the Frigidaire that just didn't work great. Anyway, I found the heating element to be bad (burned out, broken in half) and after replacing the element it works seemingly great, however, I noticed the tub had about a 6"...

Vintage NOS bed linens vs. new

I have a thick mattress (2 sided pillowtop) so I need sheets with deep pockets.. Sadly I haven't found any vintage that would even come close to fitting. I've hated microfiber for years, but gave in and bought a set (because I'm cheap and couldn't justify $50-60+ for a set of queen size sheets)...

Kitchenaid KUDA22 Superba Selectra Upper Arm Doesn't Spin

What about a clogged fill valve not allowing in the proper amount of water? Try adding a gallon once the machine has stopped filling and see if the arm spins then. Should be filling almost to the bottom of the door.

Why the heck did Frigidaire Discontinue the Bearing-Hitch/Ball-Hitch/Rear Coil dryers?

Honestly because they were terrible.. The electric versions ran far too hot at the back (we owned a TOL front control model from 2009 and had many items scorched), gas models were painfully slow, small capacity and lint filters compared to other brands. Lint buildup was also an issue, ours had...

Putting regular soap in a dishwasher

My dad did similar to an early 2000's builder grade GE Potscrubber. It was an awful excuse of a machine anyway, but he decided that adding a few drops of liquid detergent took the grease off better.. That worked fine for a few washes until it didn't anymore, and we walked into the kitchen to see...

Finally.. Getting a KDS-21 tomorrow.. Anything I should know?

Sorry I guess I didn't word that quite right.. I'm using the Cascade pod for the main wash and Cascade liquid/gel for the prewash. Also I'm not in front of the machine but I'm referring to the filter which is part of the wash arm support, under the wash arm when it's in place. The stainless...

Finally.. Getting a KDS-21 tomorrow.. Anything I should know?

Both detergent dispensers seem to be working now, maybe I just didn't have it latched properly. Also, is there any reason I shouldn't just use it without the mesh filter? I've done 2 loads and it cleans amazingly well, even without it. Not a speck left on anything, clean and dry. Next question...

Finally.. Getting a KDS-21 tomorrow.. Anything I should know?

I've had the door panel off and there seems to be no sign of leaks or damage, the dispenser has not been rotated but I can do that.

Finally.. Getting a KDS-21 tomorrow.. Anything I should know?

Also the prewash dispenser isn't opening.. Main wash worked fine but the prewash dispenser doesn't feel like it's latching. No signs of leaks from the dispenser.

Finally.. Getting a KDS-21 tomorrow.. Anything I should know?

It's home and installed, currently running an empty wash. Timer is working and it's clicking through the cycle. First thing I noticed was the upper rack had a rusted/broken area.. No problem, installed the like new spare rack and done. Second issue, the mesh filter under the wash arm seems to...

Finally.. Getting a KDS-21 tomorrow.. Anything I should know?

Currently using a 2013 Frigidaire which in all honesty is an adequate dishwasher.. It just lacks the water pressure to remove all but the simplest soil and doesn't dry well. It has served it's purpose but I switch out dishwashers fairly often. I've used a KDC-21 pretty regularly and didn't find...

Finally.. Getting a KDS-21 tomorrow.. Anything I should know?

Found a decent if not nice KDS-21 on FB marketplace about 40 mins away and I'm picking it up tomorrow morning.. The seller says he bought it new and has never had any problems with it. Includes all the panels, an extra top rack, and the manuals. All for $40. Depending on the condition I may be...

Is this Maytag Quiet series dishwasher considered a TRUE/GENUINE Maytag dishwasher?

I've used a couple of this style dishwasher and I will say it's probably one of the best cleaning and largest capacity dishwashers I've ever used. Definitely not quiet by any means, but a cleaning machine! I know of one still in daily use by a large family, and the only issue is the racks are...

The freight train's a coming down the tracks.. How long have we got??

It's been sounding a little scratchy for the better part of a year, I considered replacing it before the current tenants moved in but it was still reasonably quiet then, and they will be here a year on Halloween. Last I used it about a month ago to wash a mattress pad (we have a top load Speed...

The freight train's a coming down the tracks.. How long have we got??

Our Maytag Neptune (5000 series I believe) appears to be on it's way out.. It's been in our lower level apartment for about 4-5 years now and 2 different tenants who have loved it, and I've been noticing it getting slightly louder on spin cycles lately (can hear it in our bathroom above) but...
