Converting whirlpool dishwasher wash system to tower style

The white ring is the bearing and go under the black cap with the new set up.

Converting whirlpool dishwasher wash system to tower style

I think the difference between the 3 and the 5 level was mostly in marketing. The middle arm in both systems sprays down which they count as a level in the 5 picture but not the 3 picture. Also the three level picture is of the first powerclean design without the filter on top. The 3 level one...

Converting whirlpool dishwasher wash system to tower style

I didn’t really notice any difference in performance between the two when I did it. I know it seems kinda a downgrade but I just wanted to see if it was possible and if there would be a difference in washability. I know some members hate the lower tower but I never had an issue loading around...

    Before I give up....

The best way to check for short fills would be to add some extra water to the main wash and see if that improves the performance, or at least will wash out the detergent cups. I would pull the wash arms and make sure the holes aren’t blocked, the upper one especially can get crud in the jets...

Converting whirlpool dishwasher wash system to tower style

The part number is 8268829. This really will turn into a Frankenpool lol. I would probably be more worried about mounting it to the rack, there probably are differences there. Also worth noting that the whirlpool arm had a self centering funnel to catch the full force of the stream of water...

Also here's a link to the Service manual...the models listed in it are a little older but it is the same module as what is in yours. https://applianceassistant.com/ServiceManuals/4322451l_kd-11_whirlpool_1998_power_clean_filter_dishwasher.pdf

Lowes is selling a a top loading sink/dishwasher combo

Several things of interest according to the owners manual: Has a dish cleaning cycle and a produce cleaning cycle Requires of 240V connection Even though there is a heavy, normal, and light cycle the manual suggest one should prerinse their dishes. Something like that would be handy to quickly...

Maytag MDBTT59AWW vs. GE Potscrubber 845

GE made the Potscrubber series for many decades so it's hard to say where it falls into the line without seeing it but those turbine pumps and large wash arms holes where all about moving a large volume of water around. Much different that say the high pressure needle jets in a Maytag Jetclean...

Looking for help with this KitchenAid KDS 15

Gorgeous vintage KitchenAid dishwasher there. Glad you are restoring it and not throwing it on the scrap pile. Your first move should probably be to put a gallon or two or very hot water In the sump and let it sit for a while. This will allow the seals to rehydrate and give you an opportunity to...

Last Saturday I brought home Miele triplets!

Also regarding the nuclear powered heater...I thought I read somewhere that it could complete a full boil wash cycle in under an hour. At 4 degrees of temperature raise a minute it’s certainly feasible.

Last Saturday I brought home Miele triplets!

Great find! Absolute dream machine for me! I’ll have to start saving my pennies so I can have one in my next laundry room. Going to be saving a lot of pennies unless I find a steal like that! Happy washing with those beasts!

    Powerclean/Ultrawash

You will for sure want to look in the sump of that machine before you buy. Whirlpool sold Short tub Durawash machines that externally can look very similar to a power clean. The durawash machines have an offset sump, a plastic lower wash arm and generally don’t have the in the door silverware...

New to me Whirlpool Powerclean portable dishwasher

Yes going for the full size machine was the better choice, it’s much more flexible and able to handle pots and pans and other large items. I have only used one countertop machine, but I would say the performance is probably much better too, especially with that Whirlpool. If you are going to...

New to me Whirlpool Powerclean portable dishwasher

You would have to get the pump outlet for a 2nd revision pump (with the filter and not the dead zone) that is for a tower feed. You take the wash arm off and there are 8 or so torx screws that hold it on. The feed tube itself is held on by screw on the back of the tub, it just unscrews and comes...

New to me Whirlpool Powerclean portable dishwasher

On the mechanical power cleans the detergent cup was released by an arm at the timer like a mechanical GE. I’m not sure what the release mechanism is on the electronic ones, probably a bi metallic strip. The spring holds it shut so if the door shuts there’s probably a problem with the release...

    Laundromat adventures

Perhaps I should have been more clear, I did unfortunately mean the newer style Whirlpool belt drive machines. I’ve tried to find older machines since they tend to use more water and have more fills, for front loaders anyways. The mat I’ve been going to seems to have fairly hot water, the glass...

Why do i have such a soft spot for these? (Kds-57a acquisition)

I know the 17s aren’t as user friendly as the 18s and up but I think it would be such a fun machine to have! All that power from the Hydrosweep to clean both racks! Anyways I hope it’s a joy to use! Let’s see some pictures of it in use!

    Laundry Pods

Since the thread about dishwasher pods has got quite a bit of discussion I thought I’d see what everyone thought of their cousin the laundry pod. The main argument presented in the video doesn’t apply to the laundry side since most users don’t prewash their laundry. My only gripe about them is...

    Dishwasher cabinet

Electricity shouldn’t be a problem as there is a plug near the proposed location, wiring a heavy duty cord to the junction box will suffice there. As far as the intake water and drain is concerned, in don’t think a standard unicoupler will reach. I think I could take an intake hose from a...
