    Worth saving?

I'm not able to comment on the dishwasher. But...what a beautiful kitchen! If we ever buy another house, I'd love to find a "time capsule"! They seem to be going more extinct by the minute though.

    Heads Up! Whirlpool Wringer Washer

    That's beautiful!

I can't believe I've never thought to do this.

Ryne, We have the "quick release" type of toilet seats in our house, but I'm not sure how to explain it clearly. As part of each hinge assembly, there's a little lever type piece that you just rotate, and the seat lifts off. The bolts stay attached to the toilet.

Free GE Monitor Top Fridge in New England!

Dave, That's a nice piece. I really hope it gets rescued. I can't do it, even though I'm in MA. I'd have no way to haul it to the opposite side of the state, nowhere to put it, and I'd have to ask you to temporarily move in with us to do the restoration.

    70's KA DW

Thanks, Bob. Truth is, there's plenty wrong with me. But I still think this dishwasher is pretty neat!

    Utensil marks, part 2

Hey, Brian. Yup. I have some of their polish too. I always heard such good things about it, but I never tried it until fairly recently, when I was trying to get something resembling a shine on a Kirby vacuum that I got for free. It did a pretty good job. Especially, considering I was doing it...

    Utensil marks, part 2

John, That's not a bad idea! Lawrence, Thank you. Yes. I have a couple of different cream polishes on hand too. I was throwing everything at my Corning casserole from my first post. I eventually got that one presentable. My concern this time around, was that maybe some products that won't...

    Utensil marks, part 2

Hi, John. Thank you for that. It's discouraging to hear, but very good to know that some marks simply will not come off. I'm going to try a couple more products on these plates. But, if I can't get them to a point where I'd be comfortable setting them before guests, I'll probably donate them to...

    Utensil marks, part 2

Hi, Eddie! Thank you so much. That's the one product that I keep forgetting about for some reason. (Magic eraser) I think we even have some on hand. If not, I'm definitely putting them on the shopping list!

    Utensil marks, part 2

Hi, all. Here we go again. I apologize for asking almost exactly the same question again. The only difference is, instead of Corning Ware bakeware, the marks are on Corelle Vitrelle plates; "Payden" pattern, in case you're curious. I've never seen so many utensil marks on plates! We joked that...

USDA Approved Lab grown no-kill Chicken heading to a store near you.

It amazes me how much "processed" food we consume; often, without even realizing it. This includes things that we think of as healthy. That being said, when these engineered meats; chicken, beef, (and whatever others they come up with) hit the shelves, I'm hoping that they're required to...

    Mystery Corelle pattern?

Well, thank you again, Eddie! That site didn't show up in my search. My fingers must have been walking in the wrong neighborhood! I appreciate the help!

    Mystery Corelle pattern?

LOL. Thanks. They had already done quite a bit of walking before I decided to post. Now...if anyone would happen to know the years that pattern was produced...😬 I'll probably just end up keeping these four plates, and keep my eyes open for other pieces in this pattern at the thrift stores. They...

    Mystery Corelle pattern?

Ugh. When I posted that question, I figured that one of two things would happen: 1.) With all of the knowledge on this site, someone would have an answer for me. 2.) As soon as I posted the question, I would find the answer myself. As it turns out, just a little bit more digging around the...

    Mystery Corelle pattern?

Hi, all. My fascination with Corning/Corelle continues. I picked up a little group of four small Corelle plates; bread and butter, or dessert plates, I believe they're called. I think they're fairly recent, based on the stamp on the underside. They appear practically new and unused. I figured...

Corning Ware: What am I doing wrong?

Thank you, everyone, for the suggestions. I actually hit it with several. I think it's about as good as it's going to get, and I've been using the piece. I since picked up a slightly smaller casserole in Blue Cornflower, which has some sort of slight discoloration inside. I've tried all of the...

    Free Maytags Vero Beach FL

They resemble the W/D on the show "Young Sheldon". I have no idea how they compare with regard to bells and whistles, but I imagine they must be around the same year. I wouldn't mind having a well optioned set of these.

Corning Ware: What am I doing wrong?

Yes. I definitely want to avoid making micro scratches! I've been having some health challenges lately, so I haven't gotten a chance to try any of y'all's suggestions yet. But, I will. And I'll report back with the results.

    Almond Hotpoint W/D set

bradfordwhite, That's exactly what I thought as soon as I saw it. They appear to be in amazing condition, but I cringed when I saw the tape.
