Norge Super Customatic 110 refrigerator in Chicago $300

Lovely Norge I've always loved the styling on Norge models. Somebody knew what they were doing. My dad absolutely loves the 50s car like styling on the customatic that I gave to him. Also, look at this little emblem that is on the evaporator cover of a 1930s model with the famous Rollator!

Westinghouse Brushed Chrome Revco Style wall refrigerator Freezer

Westy! And a gorgeous westy at that! I hope whoever got it appreciates it and gets it going. The script on the door reminds me of a 55 model that I had. The handles are similar too. That stainless though... Also, that little GE is a genuine flat top. It is charged with SO2 and is direct kin...

Maytag Gas Halo Of Heat Dryer burner ignition sequence

Halo of heat? I'm not sure if my dryer is a halo of heat gas dryer but it is a Maytag gas dryer from 1959 that seems to operate just fine. I have a video that I took of the burner turning on but I'm not sure what the best way to post it is. I may have to upload it to google drive.

    Got a GE combination fridge!

No problem at all I'm glad you like it and I'm glad I could help. I hope that you can get it repaired without much trouble.

    Got a GE combination fridge!

Glad to see it works... Sorry to hear it shocked you. I was actually the one who helped Travis move this beast. Thankfully the previous owner was quite built and made loading it up easy. He even had an ancient 78 rpm jukebox that was interesting. Unloading it wasn't too bad but I did have to...

1963 Coldspot Spacemaster 14 refrigerator / RCA Whirlpool for Sears

Very nice That's a nice coldspot. It WILL outlast a couple of new fridges. These had a rotary vane compressor that just wouldn't quit.

And the 'head-slapper of the week' award for a craigslist ad goes to....

Wow... You had to pick the one appliance that is the exact opposite of what you described! Still a neat mini fridge though. Looks similar to my 65 magic chef.

How lucky can one guy get? Maytag 142

I love these machines! Never would I think that there would be such a difference between old and new laundry equipment. Sure, I figured that the old models would be built like tanks...they are, but I figured I would give up at least some cleaning or drying ability. Boy was I wrong. I now have...

How lucky can one guy get? Maytag 142

Goatfarmer... No I did not. I honestly have no use for it now and will let the owner know as much.

How lucky can one guy get? Maytag 142

Excellent, great ideas I will get a piece of Plexiglas or a board. Not sure which will be easier and cheaper and I'll make it happen. The landlord should be happy but then again...he's a landlord. The whole corner down there is full of lint in the ceiling from so much dryer venting. Also, the...

How lucky can one guy get? Maytag 142

Thanks for the advice I will work out a way to vent it outside. There is a window right above where it will go. It is a very old window with two panes. Does anyone know how to do a proper job of putting a vent in an old window?

How lucky can one guy get? Maytag 142

Well, I haven't even gotten used to my antique stove and here I am. I'm now the proud new owner of a Maytag 142 from 1959 and a matching gas dryer. They look to be in good shape. They were purchased by a man who worked for the railroad according to the guy I bought them from. The man who...

    My 1936 GE Range!

Panthera...good explanation You explained that very well. Now it makes sense to me how simple switching can make a dual element burner have so many settings. Very clever. I will try to get some more pictures of it soon. I've been crazy busy. I will also order that replacement thermostat. Now...

    My 1936 GE Range!

Steve...Thank you! I would love that manual. Contact me via email at [email protected] and we can sort out the details. That will be a huge help. I love how you found my exact model in the book. I also love it's name!

    My 1936 GE Range!

I think this stove is an older design... To answer Ralph's question... I do believe that the burners are original. I have no way to back that statement up but they do all match. They have an emblem in the middle that says "hi-speed calrod". Strangely enough the cheaper stoves at the time...

    My 1936 GE Range!

Thanks for the warm response Thank you all for the kind words. To answer some questions... Yes, the cabinets are Steel. They must have 15 layers of crappy white paint. So many layers in fact that I almost couldn't make out the Youngstown Kitchen badge. I do agree that it fits in nicely with...

    My 1936 GE Range!

Hello everyone. I know I haven't been active on here lately. I've been way too busy moving. Part of the moving process was getting used to having a worn out kitchen which was made in the 50s and never touched since. Unfortunately the oven was not from that period. It was a hideous 80s Kenmore...

GE Combination refrigerator BGS-13? Identification & general questions

That is one nice fridge I usually don't like these generations of GE's as much as the earlier stuff. However, I see that this one is a manual defrost model. That makes things more interesting in my book. Anyways...I would check the electrical systems before really calling it dead. Old...

Vintage frigidaire refrigerator - $100 (Sellersburg)

Wow... Haven't been on here in a while. That's a nice fridge. My grandpa found one a few years older in an abandoned house that was going to be torn down. Luckily he knew the lady whose family left the house in the first place. Very cool stuff.

Sunny yellow in the living room!

Mellow Yellow If I had to name the color of these nice machines I would choose that name. I was really worried that at least the washer would be crazy heavy. Turns out it wasn't bad. Now, getting these down into the basement at Travis's house is a different matter. There will be hardly any room...
