I 2ND that "Don't forget that your drain hose may have to loop "UP" as high as it can go to prevent siphoning." It is amazing how many professional forget to do this, and then people wonder why their DW dosent wash well......lol

I gave my Maytag about a 3 week vacation, when I went back to use it, the thermal overload would turn the motor off upon start up of spin. (The machine would start spinning, but water would not pump out) So, I replaced the belts, water pump, and motor - the same problem is occuring! Whats going...

Would Bob be proud of me?

I smell pre-rinsed dishes! Nice job John, I guess I'll have to post some pic's of my machine loaded as well, to me it's more fun than a jig-saw puzzle! Although I think I would have positioned the custard cups underneath the 9x13, and I would have separated the electric knife blades. Also I...

WP Powercrean We had one of these growing up, I remember the silverware issue-with the basket on door. We use to put the basket in the rack and that solved the dirty silverware problem. I think a larger flatware basket placed in the rack would probably have been the best setup. Also I remember...

    Original concept Maytag Dishwasher

Kelly You are right, the fact that this one is almost 20 years old, could have something to do with the lack of a great wash for ME. Also, it is funny how people can say the exact opposite opinions on the same appliance! LOL I agree, the sounds of the water whipping around in the maytag are...

    Original concept Maytag Dishwasher

I am running one of these as i type, and i agree it took getting used to. I dont think this creans as well as my newer design KA, especially for the silverware. Tall items such as stock pots, and iced tea pitchers have to be loaded in the center of the upper rack, and tilted to catch the water...

    Dishwasher Caught Fire

you all are missing the point, its not the heating element that overheated and caught fire! Its the wiring underneath that caught fire or shorted out. Thats what GADGET GARY meant when he said "Ultimately I determine the cause: one of the wires to the heating elements broke at the crimp...
