Well yesterday I splurged and bought a new Kitchen Aid to replace my 16 year old Maytag. I got it at Sears and will be picking it up early next week. I'm going to take the old dishwasher out myself and install the new one. I've never done it before but it doesn't look that difficult (yeah right! LOL)

Much luck. Let me know how you like the KA Tall-tub.

Today's SS braided DW inlet hoses that replace older copper tubung are a snap to install. Good luck. Don't forget that your drain hose may have to loop "UP" as high as it can go to prevent siphoning.

...and of course kill the power when working on it (before it kills you!)

:-)

I 2ND that

"Don't forget that your drain hose may have to loop "UP" as high as it can go to prevent siphoning."

It is amazing how many professional forget to do this, and then people wonder why their DW dosent wash well......lol

Congrats Gary...

Looking forward to seeing pics of your new toy... er... dishwasher. Plans for the Maytag? Is your kitchen big enough to handle two of them?

Picked up and installed

Well I picked up the new KitchenAid today and installed it tonight. Took me about 3 hours and a lot of cursing trying to get into the tight places LOL but it is done and it is working. The first load is being washed right now. Certainly is a lot quieter than the Maytag.

Gary I am really looking forward to hearning how you feel the machine does. Thanks for sharing.

well.....it LOOKS very nice, I must say.

I always get a kick out of KA's cool cutlery holder.
Yet on all their knife sets they say
DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER.
