    Ranges with warming drawers

My GE range has a warming drawer When I bought it in 2013 there were several on the floor that had warming drawers, others could be ordered with one as an option. I wasn't sure I would use it, but went ahead and got one. Boy was I wrong, It so comes in handy. When you are frying off...

What do you call it ?

Kansan here: We call it a stove regardless of the cooking fuel. If we want to differentiate between there is a "kitchen stove" Or a "cook stove" and a "Heating stove" if the house is so equipped. Since we have always had mostly electric we would say. "I left the stove on."

I agree with reply 1 Boil a few cups of the vinegar to help dissolve the salt. This was a recipe that was recently passed around a gardening site for poison ivy.

What are scent booster beads made of?

I like em I never used the entire capful, but they came in handy for my mother when she was alive. They gave her clothes a fresh smell that she enjoyed. I also like to put about a tablespoon full into a new vacuum cleaner bag to have a fresh smell through the house, to refresh just throw a...

    guacamole

Since I am not a Mayo person (HATE IT) I use sliced Avocado on sandwiches, it gives you that creaminess without the rancid oil flavor. I used to make just a plain Avocado salad, chunked Avocado, salt pepper and Lemon juice, or white vinegar. This was before they were so dern expensive. Back...

    guacamole

Another alternative Not how I do it. Rachel Ray uses a cooling rack, places it over a bowl, and smashes the Avocado through the rack. I split my Avocados in half, remove the pit then take my paring knife and do cross hatch cuts through the flesh all the way to the peel. Then I take a...

    Tide Zero

I am so glad they are coming out with a zero Every since those pods I have been looking for a low calorie alternative. ;-) Kidding aside, so besides the absence of OBO, are the other ingredients the same or close? I think I would try it, at least for my dark colors. I have Woolite for darks...

Where to get Kitchen Knives sharpened

Mom used to take ours to the sewing machine shop she frequented. They sharpened scissors and knives. At that time they charged $1 each. I bought a sharpener on Amazon that does pretty well as well.

Washer with 2 in 1 Removable Agitator

It could have been the JC Penny/Hotpoint I just remember the commercial where they take the main agitator off, and there is a slinder, almost pole like agitator underneath.

Washer with 2 in 1 Removable Agitator

I remember back in late 60s early 70s There was a machine, I think it was Westinghouse that had a hand wash agitator under the regular agitator. The GE mini-basket was for small loads that could be washed on the gentle cycle, however, the mini-basket fit the contours of the regular...

    Induction burners

I got a Duxtop Single burner in 2013. It does a great job. I will say the heating zone is rather small, I would say six inches, maybe. But it serves me well for what I use it for. I use it when working with my Iron skillets, I don't use those on my ceramic top range. I have a big fryer...

    Worst washing machines

What are they basing the ratings on? Is it function? Repairs? Overall cost of ownership? Performance? I will have to defend Whirlpool. I have a Maytag/Duet clone, I must have low standards, but it is one of the best machines I have owned. As I have said before if it is the worst, it must...
