My Dishwasher ROCKS!! (Before and after picture thread. EVERYONE welcome!)

VERY Nice! I know I get similar, great results with the Finish Powerball tabs. I don't need to add TSP or STPP in my water (it's very soft). My dishwasher BOL GE portable, and everything washes beautifully with the Finish, even stuff with baked on food residue. If I try the same test with...

    craigslist- Huebesch washer

These are made by Alliance, right? Like Speed Queen? It looks like it is. Looks like a nice machine...I can't see myself replacing a high line top loader for a new front loader.

Maytag Dependible Care with... SUDS SAVER!

I always wanted a suds saver model... ...but I have never had a laundry room with proper space for a laundry tub. I think they make sense, especially if you lead a low-soil lifestyle.

Stain Removers? Why Do we need them?

(the only one stain remover I've ever used is a laundry Same here...that's the only one I've needed. As long as I use a decent quality detergent, my top-loader seems to shift everything else.

Our New Laundry and Dishwasher Appliances - U.S Frigidaire and Aus Dishlex

Congratulations on Your Finds... I really like the dishwasher....I tend to go for the simpler designs after having problems with TOL appliances. My neighbor and friend has that same (I think) Frigidaire washer. Hers doesn't make noise like the ones I heard in your video. Best of luck getting...

Wow what a load this will handle...!

1600 KG.... Forget steam cleaning all that carpet of mine! Forget the upholstered furniture....I think I could wash it all in one load. Does it require HE detergent? Do I need to fill the cap to line 1 or line 2??? ;)

    P&G Flashback Packaging at Target

Nothing Vintage about liquid Tide, True, but I wouldn't mind a bottle of that Downy for decoration.

What is your favorite Department Store?

Another Vote for JC Penney A large portion of my clothing, bed linens and the like come from JCP. I loved the Bon Marche back in the day, but Macy's isn't the same. I rarely shop there. I remember the old days when you had Lamont's, Mervyn's, Frederick & Nelson (I liked them), and Miller's (a...

    What is your favorite Supermarket?

I Shop at Several Stores for Different Things I usually go and get my canned goods and the non-perishables over at Save A Lot....they have the best prices on the things I use the most. I also get cold cuts and the like there too.   I don't like their meats, but Safeway usually has good...

Under Arm Stains Wall Street Journal 5/11/11

I Switched to the Crystal Years Ago... ...and I haven't had a stain since.

My 24 year-old GE refrigerator needs compressor

Another vote for a new fridge and a Whirlpool.... My Whirlpool fridge is coming up on 11 years old. Still solid as a rock and no repairs to this date. It may not be as heavily built as my mother's old Coldspot by Whirlpool that died at age 38, but they're still solid.

Owning an all Electric Home in New England/Mid Atlantic

I Have All Electric Here... ...Portland doesn't have the high electric rates that most of the east coast has. But I still get a really significant savings on my monthly bills by keeping the main thermostat fairly low (electric resistance furnace here), and warm the area I'm in with a ceramic...

    Tide Simple Pleasures

I liked the Lavender and Vanilla too... ...used to use it in my wringer washed stuff that was line dried....the fresh and and that scent in combination was lovely.

    Daily Detergent Thread May 2011

Sears Ultra Plus for the Really Dirty Stuff.... Since Lawrence gave it a glowing review a while back on a thread I posted, I haven't been without it. Wonderful stuff and cheap.   I use my own soap flakes for the lighter stuff and delicates. I had a surplus of oil I needed to use up before it...

Operator ERROR! aka "People Are Stupid!"

"Also seems like Whirlpool would/should have an issue wi I agree. If they had blown her off, yeah, but they made it good. Even if the bearings and springs had problems, and it wasn't user error, bad machines roll off the assembly line. It happens. It's unfair to leave the video up without...

    Twin Tubs

Top Loaders... ....I think that top-loaders are familiar to most Americans and water has traditionally been very inexpensive in most areas...none of us really thought much about water use and energy consumption back then.

    My new wringer washer!

I would keep an eye out on E-bay... ...they have photofacts and owners manuals by the zillion there. That's how I found the manual for my Maytag wringer. The lid's not as big a deal where it doesn't affect operation....you could always cut one from plywood to keep everything clean between washings.

    Dishwashing 1920's style!

"I also wonder how well they would clean with today' You know, some of these old designs, I think you would be surprised at how well they would do with good detergent, and a little prep--like a quick pre-rinse. I can't imagine them having any kind of filter or food disposer, but I would imagine...

Wonderful (new to me) dishwasher detergent!

Formulas do change, so they may have reformulated the tabs for the better too. Back before 7/2010, I got great results just using the Sunsations or Wal-Mart Great Value powder...not so anymore. I have had the same complaints about most of the new phosphate free stuff that the rest of the AW have...
