Thank you Glenfieldmathk1, Now I'm in my early 30s. I thought it was time to get on the property market. The flat is the type I wanted. The kitchen and living room is open plan which is why I wasn't a quiet machine. I noticed the Hotpoint says SMART something on it. I've never noticed an...

Hi Dan, It looks like it will be the Hotpoint. I too agree that the latest machines seem to be really good and an improvement over the previous ones. The Indesit Innex which is basically the same look really nice too.

Hi guys, Thank you all for your responses. I went back to the flat at the weekend and I went to look in the slot in the kitchen and luckily, there is an outlet pipe and taps under the sink and there is holes for the pipes for the washing machine. I didn't look properly when I first went to...

Perhaps there's something under the sink. I'm just surprised that there are no holes on the side linking pipes through to under the sink. It's a shared ownership flat, so belongs to a housing association, I just own a percentage. I'm wondering if maybe the side cabinet was repaired with a new...

Hi all, I'm in process of buying a new place and going through the usual stuff that goes with getting a new home. The flat is 11 years old but when I went to look at the kitchen, I didn't recall seeing any pipes for the washing machine in the empty slot, just pipes for the boiler that is...

Daily Mail on BEKO hazardoous appliances!!!!

mattywashboy, That's a shame to hear your Beko washer was very sensitive on spins. That's put me off buying a top end Beko when I buy my flat. I have a cheap Beko in the flat where I'm currently living with others and it spins heavy loads, unbalanced loads without any issues. It's only 5kg...

    Zanussi's of today

AquaCycle, It's sad to see great brands go down the pan. But I guess it's a very comparative market so they have to produce machines as cheaply as possible which are not as durable and advanced as the previous generation.

    Zanussi's of today

Pleased to hear Aegokocarat, I may just have been unlucky but it put me off the brand for good. I did purchase a Jetsystem after selling the Flexi Dose and it was a breath of fresh air. It spun the loads without fussing, washed and rinses with plenty of water and sounded smoother when...

Optima, Here's a Spin Rinse video which was very unbalanced. Sometimes it should to scare the hell out of me when I used to hear crashing in the kitchen but it was great fun to watch LOL. The Zanussi Jetsystem ZWH7122J that I purchased in 2012 had admittedly got better suspension on it, even...

Optima, That machine is amazing. A typical Zanussi appliance of science. It reminds me of my AEG that I used to have and miss. Please see the video of my 2002 AEG doing a Spin Rinse with a duvet in it. This machine lasted 9 years before it started to freeze and randomly jump and bang. I...

Took a look at the latest Zanussi Lindo machines. Not a fan of what I see. Nothing spectacular about their latest machines. These feature tiny wash paddles, small cabinets which mean they are not genuinely 'big' and the Flexi Dose detergent drawers which are tiny. That Aqua Fall System which...

    Bosch Drain hose

Foraloysius, It's a good idea of the hose being connected at the top. I always had the hose going across and down to the side on my machines that have the hose coming out at the top due to the way the outlet pipe is located.

    Bosch Drain hose

newwave1, We have a Beko WMB5100W in the flat share that I have and I absolutely hate it. It seems to take enough water for the washes but the rinses are a joke. It tumbles whilst it fills yes, but water is never visible during the rinses and I hate filling it up to full capacity. The...

    Bosch Drain hose

dascot, German machines always had the hose coming out at the top. I have attached a photo of my 2002 - 2002 isn't really an old machine. I saw a post regarding a Bauknecht machine with a diagram of the outlet pipe. Shame I cant read Dutch. Its around 8 posts down...

    Bosch Drain hose

Hi, It was me who posted that about Beko. The reason I felt the Beko doesn't rinse well is because it doesn't take enough water on rinses. It seems to have a timed fill and it stops and that and had never topped up. I really dislike it. The hose coming out of the top of the cabinet at the...

Drum - yeah it was very mouldy in the seal when I moved in, but I managed to scrub away most of it.
