This is very similar to the Modern Maid our builder installed when we constructed our dream home in 1977. Ours was black also, but had no rocker switch to control the dry mode (apparently using one of the cycle buttons on the left to accomplish this, I suppose.) My aunt owned a portable 1975...

@washerdude: nope, no soil sensor. My unit goes through the same sequence per cycle with no variations.

The lid is standing up but cocked at an angle like GE hinged-lid washers of that era. I don't recall WPs of that vintage or any being able to do that.
