btw- the cost of doing a standard double load in a FL commercial washer is about $4 There are like 4 different machines, each about twice the capacity of the previous A 4 load washer is about $7 A 6 load washer is about $11 and a 9 load washer is about $15 Then there is the use of the dryer...

Have you seen these portable washing machines??

The Haier one piece will probably do it all in one but I would be concerned about how well it cleans. Just depends on what you're looking for. Do you know the RPMs of spin tub in that?

Have you seen these portable washing machines??

"I mean, I guess if you have a spinner you can do the dance of washing, taking out, spinning yourself, returning to washer to rinse, then spin again. " You would be doing this if you had a twin tub ANYWAY, but the capacity isn't there. Twin tub you still need to wash, move to spin out, move...

Have you seen these portable washing machines??

Just like with "full-size" washers and dryers one needs to consider the capacity of various compact washer AND spin drier models as well. Just saying "compact" doesn't cut it. The separate spin dryer shown above by Laundry alternative has a larger capacity than the spin tub in the $110 twin...

Various Dishwashers Up For The Bid

Ah yes Plastisol the first GE dishwasher. I remember 1983 during big junk week. I picked up 4 of these GE dishwashers at different locations, each in a different color. Some were portable, others built-in. I remember a coffee color built-in had a scratch on the inside door that was never...

Have you seen these portable washing machines??

If you're looking for compact, affordable, light weight, easy to move but certainly capable machines, try this pair. The washer is a topload tumble washer. Washes just like my WP Duet. And you can wash a full size load in this. Automatically it fills(cold water or single valve only. You can...

Have you seen these portable washing machines??

Mark The machine in your first post is an entry level "starter" washer with spin tub. For about $110 on ebay you can have it shipped to you and that includes shipping. I tried this back in 2020 for a bit. Not having a pump is a sticking point, though they make some models with a pump...

Is there a future for dry cleaning?

Just realized "As for "dirty smell" or whatever dry cleaning solvents are supposed to be filtered between uses and changed when dirty. ...." Changed? I'm just trying to picture WHO would change this chemical out and WHAT they did with it...

Vintage Maytag "Fabric-Matic" Washer In Harvest Gold

Those are sweet Dan. Thank-you. The lighting was just right for that pic. I know GE and Kenmore made a few models in harvest gold into the early 90s. See I wonder if Maytag still made avocado, coffee, and if they ever got into the dove gray and toast colors of the mid 80s. Most brands were...

Is there a future for dry cleaning?

I found out ... that small three store 1960s built stripmall where we used to shop or use services for all three places was recently demolished as it's been abandoned for several years. Originally a Super Valu grocery, a pharmacy, and the one hour martinizing on the end. The site is...

Is there a future for dry cleaning?

Thanks everyone who posted links and gave info about this process. ----- All I can say is how absolutely disgusted I am with the information. It's way worse than I imagined. They used gasoline and kerosene at one point on clothing? UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG That's so gross and so dangerous...

Incandescent light bulb BAN goes into effect next week

Ban starts today AFter 16 years of b.s. ----- Dave, I have no doubt the FBI has you on top of their list. They're coming for any kind of incandescent bulb and will punish you big time. They'll also be confiscating all the potato chips and tubs of ice cream you've been hoarding. You're...

    70's KA DW

If the dw looks like this, think of what the rest of the house looks, or originally looked like. I'll bet it has/had red velvet wallpaper, numerous mirror affects, carpet in every room including the kitchen and baths, interesting glass 70s chandeliers thru-out, and was pristinely maintained all...

Vintage Maytag "Fabric-Matic" Washer In Harvest Gold

I wonder if in the 80s Maytag stopped making other colors other than almond and harvest gold. When ever I see this style MT panel the machine is either white, almond or the rare hg, like this one. That Whirlpool dryer next to it looks even older. I'd guess late 60s/early 70s.

Got myself a new GE for free

Well it looks like a fun machine. Given that it's NIB and Free who can complain. It is a Filter-Flo which means it's a water hog. It can use upwards of 50 gallons of water per load compared to a typical front load washer that may use around 10...

Is there a future for dry cleaning?

Can someone tell me HOW this chemical actually was involved, what it did? In the 70s my mother was always stopping to pick up drycleaning and so we had all these wire hangers with the papers advertisement of the drycleaner. They were always covered in this plastic and they didn't smell good...

Is there a future for dry cleaning?

In the late 80s we had a former drycleaning business building that looked like it was from the 1950s. It was closed and fenced off. Later found out it was on the EPA's superfund site list. I feel bad for those who worked with this toxic stuff.

    Built-In Refrigerators?

Laundress The two auctions you tagged (thank-you) have closed. $1700 & $3600 each. Like I stated above, the dramatics. lol The idea several people were willing to sucker up the coinage for THAT is amazing to me. But hey, losers lost millions on crypto-crap currency, buying $100K pick up...
