    Snow Thrower cable repair question.

NAPA sells a "PTO cable". It's for power take off's in trucks, BUT it's strong enough to do anything you need to do. Cut-to-length, pretty inexpensive and did I say strong? If that is too big, a small-engine repair place should have a throttle cable that is of smaller gauge and should work...

You had to post pics of t-birds and a Cougar....Now my wife is on me to find another 89 XR7. I had one a few years back and she absolutely LOVED the thing. Mustang performance in a family sedan.

    Vintage Ovens - CL finds

I'm about.. 20 miles south of Buffalo....Where we got hit worse than South Buffalo. That person that died in his car was near my parent's house. They have about 50" there. I'm inside, warm and my truck goes right through this stuff. It just started snowing again about an hour ago...calling...

GE Mobile Maid In Upstate NY

What He said. I had a portable I kept in my old shop for realllllly greasy things. Toss some simple green in after it fills, crank to pots and pans and wait for cleanparts.....DO NOT LET THEM DRY IN THERE THOUGH. Rusting metal happens REALLY fast when stripped of grease and then hit with hot...

    Afraid of gas stoves?

NYC, the only problem with an electric leak is you cannot see/smell it until you touch it. Vintage, I would assume Julia Child used an electric on set because most studio's probably do not have a gas line run into them and electric is "safer" for the crew. The big reason I prefer Gas is...

PhilR, If by any chance you rip into that dryer, could you see if there is a part number on the Drum lamp socket? I'm looking for one for my Whirlpool dryer. Thanks!

    Afraid of gas stoves?

LOVE my 1940's Estate. No electric parts to break, no electric needed to cook dinner(important in the Snowbelt..Dealing with Thundersnow as I type), instant temp changes.. Plus, I have a 25,000 BTU large skillet burner that actually gets hot enough to Wok cook on correctly. If your old manual...

Does anyone have a operating thermostat for a Whirlpool dryer?

One more thing.....If anyone is still following. Is there a lamp kit available for the Drum Lamp? I see my new door switch has a N.O. Contact, that should plug into a harness for a drum lamp. I just cannot find the lamp housing and harness anywhere. The drum looks like it has slots for some...

Does anyone have a operating thermostat for a Whirlpool dryer?

Ordered a new drum seal, front seal, front bearing kit, belt/roller/idler kit and a door switch. After it's fixed, it should be a new dryer and last another 40 years. The rear seal is GONE...Nothing touching the bulkhead at all. No physical damage, just 40 years of wear.

    What's Wrong With This Picture?

Easy Explanation. The missus got a newfangled electric fridge and the hubby and the boys just herced it to the garage incase the newfangled fridge died. That way they would have a replacement. Or the Sears delivery guys did not offer free removal in the 60's....

For those of you adding console lights..

Does anyone have a operating thermostat for a Whirlpool dryer?

I'm going to replace the drum to bulkhead seal this week too. i noticed it was a little worn and just barely touching the bulkhead. Might as well do rollers and the belt while I'm in there.....My 40 dollar dryer is starting to cost me some cash...20 for the seal, 25 for ignitor, another 30 for...

finally got my maytag 806 washer & 808 dryer!!!

Too much grease will not allow the parts to fit together. It makes a hydraulic seal and them you have to overcome that suction to remove the agitator. Grease in a sealed hole can create an airtight seal and exert a LOT of pressure on parts. PAcking a bushing with grease and smacking the...
