Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Oh, I saw it...

It was just too B, B, B, BOL even for me. They removed all the handy handles and they're kind of necessary for a portable dishwasher. The Textolite top even lacks an integral design, now that's spiteful (or they may have used plain linoleum).  It has the el-cheapo detergent chute that Tomturbomatic has talked about before, but I've never seen one in pink. That pink plastic silverware basket was the same as the one on our first GE Pull-out, also a 1961 model. That basket was used for years following this and has appeared in pink, white and blue iterations--I'm very fond of it and hope to find a blue sample one day. It was very easy to use and had a good design for separating all the silverware for effective cleaning. They should have used this design with their "Silver Shower" gimmick; it would have worked better than the ridiculous 6 closed-sided nesting "to-go" cups they offered. I will say that this machine looks to be in excellent condition. Except for the stripped-down Unicouple it looks as if it hasn't been used much. I love the little alcove the owners provided for it. I haven't seen ANY literature for this thing: I would guess it's an SP-20V.

If if were remotely same model as mine

Would consider snapping it up for parts. That and or to take the best of both and make one "Frankenstein-Dishwasher", but for now one MM is enough.

Someone really ought to get this unit. From the pictures the interior seems in very good nick. No rotting, damage and more importantly the Plastisol looks very well indeed.

With some scrubbing up it would make a fun machine for possible overflow this coming holiday season.

It would also make a great utility cleaner machine, something you keep in a garage or in a basement for cleaning lots of things you would never want in your kitchen dishwasher. It's amazing how useful these things can be for cleaning tools, trash cans, bathroom utensils, cat litter boxes and the like. Just keep all that plastic many inches away from that Calrod or cut the power as soon as that top pops.

What He said.

I had a portable I kept in my old shop for realllllly greasy things. Toss some simple green in after it fills, crank to pots and pans and wait for cleanparts.....DO NOT LET THEM DRY IN THERE THOUGH. Rusting metal happens REALLY fast when stripped of grease and then hit with hot water.
