Rescued! 1948 Gyramatic in good restorable condition!

Ounces I think the detergent is measured in ounces. Automatic detergent dispensing is not a new thing. Sometimes certain features are ahead of their time. Now, there are so many machines with this feature.

    Westinghouse LTF-600

Full video It would be great if you could do a full-cycle video. These are one of my favourite washers.

A question to BSH dryer enthusiasts, especially to henene4 since he's really knowledgeable

Reverse tumbling I just recently had my 13-year-old Miele T8929WP dryer serviced as the cooling fan for the refrigerant failed behind the grill on the right-hand side vent. This caused the compressor to overheat and cut out, therefore not being able to dry the laundry effectively. The tech...

    Revolutionary idea to replace concrete

V-Zug Vibration Absorbing System V-Zug's balancing system uses water to smooth out imbalances during the spin cycle. The water is then drained into the drum to use for the rinse cycles.

1968 Programmed 4 Speed GE Filter Flo And Versatronic Dryer

Straigh vane vs. ramp agitator It would be great if anyone could shed some light on why GE used two different types of Agitators in their washers. I personally am a fan of the ramp as it seems more gentle than the straight vane one. Great looking machines.

Miele Twin Dos delayed cheesy smell on items

Dosage I have mine set to the default 46 ml for Ultraphase 1 and 36 ml for Ultraphase 2. What I did was to default the soil level to light instead of normal. This way it reduces the detergent dispensed by 30%. I have not had any issues with sudsing or strong-smelling laundry. Granted I nearly...

How to Disassemble Miele T1 Heatpump Dryer

Miele heat pump Hi Nathan, You should keep a look out for the older T8000 series heat pump dryers. I have a T8929WP and wouldn't swap it for a new Miele T1. I had a Miele T1 heat pump and gave it to my mum as it took longer to dry and the bed sheets would ball up. The T8000 series has two...

Rare TOL Hoover 585 washing machine

Hi All, I've been intrigued by this rare Hoover washer and found one for sale a few years ago. I wonder if any of our Australian members managed to snap it up. I also found a print ad for it as well...

Here we go again, the mantra of washing laundry in cold water

Steam phase I found that using a steam phase during a wash cycle really improves results. I have a Miele W1 and when I select AllergoWash, it does a steam phase for 20 to 30 minutes after the main wash depending on if I choose the short option. The washer spins out the wash water and then...

    Look ma, it's heat pump! (VZug WA6000 & TR6000)

V-Zug videos on YT Hi, there is a YouTuber called Swisslaundry802 who has recently purchased a V-Zug washing machine and has uploaded a number of videos of the machine in action. The VAS system works very well and the machine runs rather smoothly...

    Steel Outer Tubs?

Thanks for checking. I have a friend who has the old WT 8/5 with the 64 liter drum and the depth of the machine is 714 mm. If they left the same drum for 9/6, I think it’s too small to dry a 6kg load. The old 7/4 kg WT used the 59 litre drum. Bosch use a 70 litre drum for their 10/6 kg washer dryers

    Steel Outer Tubs?

New Miele WT 9/6 Hi Henene4, I have been wondering if the new Miele WT machines with the largest capacity have the LG drum of 73 litres? I see that the 8/5 kg machine's depth is 643 mm whereas the new 9/6 WT is 714 mm. Miele is working on a 10 kg domestic version which will use the 73 litre LG...

    Miele WWG360 and Bosch

Pre-ironing Is the steam function on the Miele model you're looking at. It adds the steam function at the end of the program. Just because your items are all cotton, the various programs are designed to treat the items with care. Most of my items are cottons and I use a variety of programs so...

    Miele WWG360 and Bosch

What features are important to you? The training the Miele salespeople get today is woeful, to say the least! You really break down what is important to you. Is it capacity, time, number of options, gentle laundry care? If time is important to you, then QuickPowerWash is good for everyday...

    Speed Queen Australia

Poor performance The Speed Queen got one of the worst ratings in Choice. I think the agitub version is not available in Australia as there is a good chance it would not pass the minimum soil removal test. The current machines need nearly 3 hours to achieve an 80% soil removal score with an 8.5...
