    Australian Kitchen Design Early 1950

They really were obsessed with "efficiency" in kitchen design in those days weren't they? Something very pleasant and quaint about these old films, very fun to watch! As for the narrator's accent, I thought she definitely had an Australian accent, must just be me! Matt

who thinks on modern washers of today the temp option hot wash with warm rinse shloud be offerd

Honestly I can't say I see the point personally. The idea of rinsing in anything other than cold water in automatics here was non-existant until the LG 'medic rinse' came out a couple of years ago. I had never even heard of anyone rinsing in anything other than cold water until I began reading...

    HOOVER A3786 LOGIC WASHER

My 1300 Has done this on a couple of occasions, as said here turning it to the off setting and leaving it to run until it sorts itself out has always worked on mine. It just seems that the programmer gets 'confused' and runs the pump constantly, even if the power button is turned off. Matt

New Generation Servis Hydrodrive, June 2013....

ooooooooooh I don't often appreciate the aesthetics of modern machines, but these look very smart indeed...I'll take one in white please! Now we just need some piano keys and the model line this little fellow endorsed and we'll have something we never thought we'd see on the market again!

    Would you wash at 20?

Absolutely... NOT! 40c as a minimum for even the most delicate and non-colourfast items (if they were damaged at 40c then they would be damaged by being in contact with the human body.) For towels and sheets that minimum goes up to 60c. Tried washing lower, just leves clothes smelling...

Hoover 9kg Vision I think not!

I think They came out in 2001, they were certainly on sale by 2002 though.

Hoover 9kg Vision I think not!

And they want £350? For a machine that must be around 10+ years old!? I did always rather like the styling of these, much more than on the later models. Matt

Hang on.... You mean there has been a dead bird stuck in your dryer vent for 8 years!? I bet that smelled lovely... *shudders*

    Best new microwave UK

She was also quite drawn in by this Sharp R28STM Although it says Sharp, I was put off by the somewhat 'generic' look and feel of it, as if it isn't made by sharp at all, looks very similar to a lot of other brands offerings...

    Best new microwave UK

Thanks for the help guys! Going by the general concensus on here it seems Panasonic would be the best choice, and this is what they have decided upon. My Mum seems to have chosen this model, the NN-SD271SBPQ...

    Best new microwave UK

Hi Looking for a bit of advice. My parent's 4 year old panasonic microwave has had its door broken off, so they are looking for a new one. Just looking for some opinions on what would be the best brand/model to go for? Microwave only is enough, it doesn't need to do convention and/or grill...

    Hotpoint 9605 toploader

Water rates It depends what part of the country you live in as to which 'water board' you fall under, some are cheaper than others. Having a water meter is normally cheaper than being on a flat rate, even if your water consumption is high. It's just when people are paying for what they use...

Zanussi jetsystem washer but its a top loader!

I knew two people who had this exact model I was always fascinated but so frustrated you couldn't watch them! I would presume they date from about 1991-1993, I think they were part of the standard lineup. Matt

    This Made Me Laugh

96/97 Saw the end of the oval/square door models and the start of the models with the handle at the top right hand side of the door. The models in the first post would date from around 1992/93. Matt

    Hotpoint 9334

Thanks Paul! I might perhaps just leave the panel for now, it all seems alright although there is some air leakage around the edges, which I have crudely rectified at present with electrical tape sealing off the leaks! As for replacing the side strip, the original strip was broken to bits so...

Recommendations for new tumble dryer? (UK)

Hi Chris Based on what I've seen and heard I would definitely have a close look at Beko dryers, excellent value for money and having had one of their washers for a while it was equally excellent and affordable! Btw, the Hotpoint dryer I took off your hands is absolutely fantastic, just needed...

    Hotpoint 9334

Hi guys, I picked this dryer up the other weekend, in great condition, just hoovered out some fluff, replaced the vent hose and lubricated the motor/rollers and it's working great. Just a couple of questions really. Firstly, how to I remover the front panel to check/clean the heating...

    Hotpoint 9334 tumble dryer

Hi Chris I would be very interested in talking this machine off your hands, I have been looking for an older, full size reversing dryer for a long time now, so I'd be hapy to drive to Sheffield for it! Are you able to post any pictures of the dryer? Thanks, Matt
