    Corelle

Ths Is My Pattern My sister gave me a set like this 31 years ago at Christmas. As time went on with repeated hand and automatic dish washing, they became less durable. A fall to the floor was the culprit in destroying the salad plates and bowls. The only remaining items I have is 3 dinner...

    Manual can openers

Best can openers I had were made by Ekco. They lasted for I don't know how long until they literally fell apart while using them. I'm now using a Farberware which looks similar to the black handled one in the pic.

Need your help with mice again

Kevin: You are reading my mind. I discovered a few food packages in one of my cabinets had small holes in them. There were also some tell tale droppings. I knew immediately I had mice. After doing some investigative work, I found out about peppermint and mice (little buggers can't stand...

My Apologies I am mistaken...it looked like a bakery product to me. That looked like bread hanging above the display case. Please forgive me.

Akronman: Your mom bought either Breeze (Lever Brothers) or Bonus (Procter & Gamble). Those were the only two detergents in the 1960's that offered wash cloths (regular size), hand towels (giant size) and bath towels (king size) inside the box. I remember Salvo made it's marketing debut in El...

Cold water washing in a front loader

Two Times So Far I went to my favorite laundromat again last week. This now makes the second visit where I had no choice but to do a cold water wash when I chose either hot and warm. As the washer filled, I put my hand in to feel the temperature of the water. I immediately started cussing up...

Arm&hammer powder detergent, is really that bad?

It seems when the new reformulated powdered detergents changed last year (or whenever it was), some got better and some got worse. I guess A&H went to the latter side of the scale. I've not used A&H since it changed. Used to use it quite a bit (mostly the bleach alternative and mountain fresh...

Couldn't Help But Notice A 100 oz. bottle of Tide on sale for 4.49. Regular price on it is 7.69. That ad's definitely old. Now for the bacon part...is it cooked or raw? If raw, when you put the clothes in a dryer the heat will cook the bacon? :)

    Vintage 1960's Pepsi Machine

Davey: Too bad she didn't sign it...that really would've jacked up the price. After viewing a few of those Pepsi commercials, I'm getting an uncontrolable urge to go to the store and buy a Pepsi Throwback.

    vintage turquoise GE kitchen appliances

I don't get it. If someone is selling an item and wants to get either their asking price or an amount close to it, then wouldn't it be worth their while to spend a little time in making it more presentable?

Review: Detergent aisles of American supermarkets

Another powder user here, but also add a bit of liquid for a "boost" to help get the oily stuff out of my laundry and a bit cleaner. Tomorrow is laundry day for me. I'm going to try and head out either early in the morning or somewhat later in the afternoon. When I went a few weeks ago (on of...
