I don't believe I have heard a whining noise from the 3rd rack, but the dishwasher occasionally makes a "fart" sound which I believe is the diverter valve moving. we use cascade powder.

your experience matches mine pretty well. outstanding! the 3rd rack really gives this dishwasher more space then one would expect it to, the ability to shift drinking glasses out of the 2nd rack offers room for larger items that would otherwise be handwashed if the first rack fills up.

    Kitchenaid Dishwasher Rack Rust

Noticed the lower rack in our newer kitchenaid has already started to rust out in a few places. Want to see if theres anything I can do to stop this before it gets worse. Would the warranty cover new racks? Thank you.

    Speed Queen Spins Getting Weired

The display flashes oFlo when the motor shuts off, so maybe it momentarily tripped the overflow switch? not sure.

LG front load washer making weird growling noise when drum rotates.

good to hear the motor sensor was the issue!

    HE Toploader Water Usage

if only the kinks in the calypso design would have been worked out, it is quite a cool concept and definitely very water frugal. not quite as good as any modern front loader i'd guess but likely better than many HE toploaders even today.

    3d printing plastic parts

I had a replacement soap door 3d printed for my old kitchenaid dishwasher. kept it going for another 2 years until we remodeled.

New York Banning gas in All new construction StateWide

I think the hope is that electrical companies will be forced to upgrade their infrastructure as we transition away from fossil fuels. whether that's by legislation or simply on their own accord.

    Dexter T-400 Washer Install Torture

I'd be worried about potentially exceeding your floors weight capacity with that slab. thats about 1000 pounds of concrete, in addition to however much the washer itself weighs.

President Biden will announce tough new rules on car pollution

i mean, any car will leave you stranded if you run out of gas, electricity, or hydrogen... when was the last time this happened to you or anyone you know however? I feel like this always gets brought up but like, noone I know has ever ran out of gas or electricity. cars have a gauge that tells...

2015 Frigidaire Gallery Dishwasher won't power on

Make sure that it didn't inadvertently get unplugged. some new houses have the dishwashers plugged in under an adjacent sink or in a cabinet, and they can get unplugged by accident.

    HE Toploader Water Usage

IDK, we've been satisfied with our LG frontloader. does much better than our old maytag "norgetag" did with bulkier items. cleans just as well if not better.

LG front load washer making weird growling noise when drum rotates.

after doing a little more research, i am reasonably to fully confident this is a hall sensor issue. the LE error code, followed by the grinding jittery motor noise, makes me believe that the hall sensor is the issue. and no, this is by no means normal.

LG front load washer making weird growling noise when drum rotates.

To add to my original post, I'd try the hall sensor first. its a pretty common failure (?) as far as i can tell, and its a lot cheaper than replacing the entire motor or control board.

LG front load washer making weird growling noise when drum rotates.

that seems to me like it might be an issue with the rotor position sensor (hall sensor), the motor driver board, or the motors windings or the wiring related to that. the way its jittering and making the growling noise seems to me as though the control board is not properly tracking the position...

How does my SQ FL decide on water level?

I believe it fills to a predetermined level based upon a pressure sensor that measures the approximate depth of the water. most new front loaders use this method to determine proper wash water levels, as it compensates for the clothing becoming saturated and adds water.

What's with the 'machine wash cold, gentle cycle, tumble dry low' tags lately?

To add a bit of info to this, I've heard that sometimes manufacturers will skip on testing the clothing and just default to cold, delicate, and low. Even on materials that will do fine on warm or even hot on a regular cycle. It's probably cheaper...

LG WM3600 cycle times are SLLOOOOWWWWWW.

Odd, my WM3900 does respond to the delay+temp trick, I wonder if its a different button combination for some reason? unless its a recent firmware change...

In your opinion, when was the true beginning of the end for Maytag?

on the topic of the neptune door... didn't the door of the neptune contain a large counterbalance weight or something along the lines of that? I read that somewhere but could never figure out if it was actually the case or not.

    laundry pet peevs
