More Woes With Whirlpool 6620 Front-loading Washer: 2nd Machine Also A Dud

Oxi as in oxygen bleach (hydrogen peroxide) im guessing... it works i guess, but I wouldn't trust it nearly as much as a proper heated sanitize cycle.

DD motor has many fewer parts to fail compared to the VMW platform, and the motor can reverse much faster.

yeah, the recirculation does different things depending on the cycle. for example on the normal cycle the recirc jets run pretty much the entire time, but on the bedding cycle they only turn on (at least during wash) when the tub is stopped. as for differences between the models, i'd guess they...

if the plastic on the powerclean is the same stuff they used for the point voyager it'll start crumbling after a while and pieces of it will migrate into the sump. don't know how tolerant the powerclean is of small pieces of plastic, but I know our point voyager got plugged up pretty fast and I...

they all look like they're using the same filter so i'd guess its identical between all three.

    Latest Whirlpool Dishwashers

from what little i've read about it, it seems that there is a small part on the top of the sump that will trap larger food particles that may have to be periodically cleaned, but that depends on use. personally I'd like to see how the washing performance is, especially on the kitchenaids with...

the tub clean cycle takes an hour and a half on our LG. we pour some bleach into the bleach dispenser, and run the water in the sink until it gets hot. start the cycle, and tada. washer smells fresh all the time. we haven't had any issues with mold or mildew yet either, despite having a front...

the funny thing is the cold water brings problems, and then when people start using fabric softener, in the cold water, it gets even worse! fabric softener kinda congeals when its cold, so it just forms a waxy gummy coating on everything and its just nasty. bet it smells terrible.

The new energy labels - Shocking in 2 ways

yeah, sheesh. Isn't one of the rules to keep politics out of the non-paid forums? the production move to china isn't surprising, and neither is the cost cutting. capitalism is extremely profit motivated, and if the CEO of whirlpool can make an extra 300,000 a year by cutting costs on washing...

hmm, maybe i'll have to take a peek inside my 3900 to verify this. seems like we don't know for certain if its one or the other.

yes, the spray rinse nozzle and i believe all of the detergent/bleach/softener dispenser shower nozzles are cold as well. As for the ease of disassembly, ours seems quite easy. few screws on the front and the door gasket needs to be unhooked, and then i believe the front just can be pulled off.

if either the extra hot or steam options are selected the water heater turns on. I know that for a fact, though i am not sure how hot it actually gets in practice. the water heater is effective though, i'll give it that. when a steam cycle finishes the drum is often still pretty hot and lets out...

we wash most of our clothes on the warm setting, and towels are always hot. leaves them smelling fresh without the scent of mildew or detergent.

of course. I'm guessing the auto dispense isn't anything special, probably just a pair of peristaltic pumps. the fabric sensors are what I'm really interested in. I know F&P has done fabric sensing for a while, but I think they're the only company that has until now. LG's normal sensing...
