Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Oh sorry wasn't aware. The new Whirlpool made machines have a deeper tub and stainless steel lower and upper spray arms.

The filtering system is self cleaning...though not sure if anything needs to be taken out once in awhile to clean. The system has been redesigned. Don't know enough about these to comment further.

I know this though. When my Frigidaire bites it I will get one of these if the LORD wills.

from what little i've read about it, it seems that there is a small part on the top of the sump that will trap larger food particles that may have to be periodically cleaned, but that depends on use.

personally I'd like to see how the washing performance is, especially on the kitchenaids with the 3rd level rack spray tubes. I believe each spray arm level is on its own wash zone now, so only one will run at a time. the kitchenaid models also have a fan assisted dry again, a feature that I dont believe had been around for a while.

Looks good!

It looks like it has a stainless cutlery basket similar to what was on the high-end Maytags. Anyone know the model number of this one? I don't think I see it on Whirlpool's website.

I have been very happy with my 14 month old WDT730PAHZ. I wonder if the wash pump is variable speed because the frequency changes during the cycle (the noise is different than when the wash arms alternate).

One thing I question is the long term reliability of Whirlpool products in general. I know vintage WP products were built like tanks but these modern machines have so much plastic and tiny motors. How long can they really last?

I am also interested in the latest models as my current unit is a 23 year old Maytag middle of the line mechanical timer model. It has been fed softened water its whole life so the interior looks like new aside from the racks which are starting to rust out. It works perfectly still but new racks are way more $$ than the thing is worth.

What I love is that I can throw just about anything into it without pre-rinsing short of a turkey carcass and it will make it all go away. My parents have a newer Kitchen Aid and while it is almost silent when running my father obsessively rinses the dishes due to the filter plugging up. If I have to wash the dishes first, what is the point of having a dishwasher?
