    Free Dryer and Freezer!

Safe! It's in the back of my truck now. It's crazy, but I'm going back for the GIANT freezer tomorrow. It's vertical, the kind where the shelves are the evaporator. It's some kind of Sears brand, figured to have been there for at least forty years. It even has a lock, with the key!

    RETRO FRIDAY--Say Goodbye to Garbage!

Stainless Steel Yesterday I removed and cleaned the stinking 6 or so year old Insinkerator from our facility. That flywheel down in there was RUSTED. Today I learned that it was leaking like a sieve, and sure enough, right out of the motor. So this evening I installed a new one. Now tonight...

Floating around on C-list for nearly a month

Removable Cooling Unit Is it bolted on? Or just sitting on there? Thanks, Keith

Floating around on C-list for nearly a month

Maybe just Maybe.... If I promise to sell my Philco fridge :/ I can pull off getting the Monitor Top.... IIRC, the entire cooling unit on these lifts off... So if I were to lay it down, it would fall off? My truck has a utility shell on it, so it will have to lay down to fit. Keith

    1950's GERITY KITCHEN FAUCET "DISHWASHER"

How does it work? Does it have a pump that recirculates dish water through the wand with the brush on it? Keith

    Drying Whites with Colors

I put this in this section since my machines are over twenty years old. I didn't see a section specifically for laundry questions. I apologize if I've misplaced it. I tried to search and that went to google. There seem to be split opinions there :/ I used to just wash and dry everything...

Floating around on C-list for nearly a month

If only I could! That's only an hour's drive (if timed right for traffic) but I just don't have the dough. I've long wanted one of those. Keith

    Maytag washer request

I have a Maytag from late '84 that I've been working on. It's almost ready to go. IIRC it's a model A712? I'll have to check again. Not sure if this iPhone junk can record for that long though :/ Keith

    FREE Gas Wall Ovens!

I've never seen gas wall ovens before- how cool! Until you turn them on, of course. :) Then I've no doubt they're HOT! Look old enough to be well made too. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/zip/5169338811.html

    Maytag Automatic Washer worth saving?

Belt Tensioner Springs Here are a couple photos of the bottom of the Maytag that I forgot to post. I took these as I was unloading it from the truck, back when I first brought it home. I cleaned up all that fuzzy grime, after the photos, with a vacuum cleaner. In looking at the photos, it is...

    Maytag Automatic Washer worth saving?

YAY! Timer appears to be working! Indeed I did have two wires crossed, such that the cold water solenoid was getting power anytime the the knob was pulled out and the water level switch was not satisfied. At least it wouldn't have run over lol. Now the motor stops briefly after the wash cycle...

    Maytag Automatic Washer worth saving?

Still Working on this Washer Just an update really. I pulled the timer (thank you for teaching me how to get the knob off!), took it apart, cleaned up and unstuck the contacts, reassembled it, and reinstalled it. I'm not too proud to admit- I have a new problem now lol. I ran out of time to...

What is the real story regarding GM/Frigidaire Washers?

Thank you for the clarification That's a pretty neat design. I'm still trying to learn about the all the various ways in which the different machines operate. Until coming to this site, my only real experience has been with a mid '80's Whirlpool. Keith
