    Dishwasher died

Go Figure. 5 years almost to the day our Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher quit. Stopped. Nothing happens. Control panel buttons don't light. There is power to the machine. I checked that out There was a slight electrical smell before this happened. Could it be the control or a fuse. I am not real...

Found and bought off C/L: Coppertone 1971 Kenmore 800 dryer...

This is a very nice machine Drew. I saw it on CL as well. Can the bulkhead on these machines be repainted with a paint that won't chip off. Epoxy?? This has a beautiful control panel. I remember these machines and more of that era well. They were very quiet and had a nice soft heat. We had...

Whirlpool Mark II Electronic Control Washer courtesy of The Pile...

This last pic is the machine spinning. Camera stopped action. It is a quiet spin. I like the swoosh swoosh from the pump after all of the water has drained out. Thanks again Andrew for thinking of me. PS JoEllen loves it too. She was out this morning checking it out again before work. Best...

Whirlpool Mark II Electronic Control Washer courtesy of The Pile...

Was I ever surprised. I couldn't believe this was happening. It seemed like forever for Drew to get here. A belt drive WP or KM machine was on my want list. This machine is quiet and clean. I like the controls. After reading the instructions under the lid I find you can make up any cycle you...

    "Frigidaire" as a common noun

Wow, this is interesting. The other night a few of us were talking about how our parents called out different sayings around the house and we picked them up as well. My great grandmother always called it the Frigidaire. My mom born in 29 never had a refrigerator until she got married always...

    Not having a good time

Lawrence...Get wells and prayers are sent to you. I hope you will start to heal soon. I somewhow flew out head first threw our back sliding door about a month ago and came down hard on my side. Everything, legs hips shoulder, hurt for a couple of weeks and I could hardly walk. It finally let up...

Escaped The Pile with a new lease on life...

Andrew, This isa beautiful set. It still has the measuring cup on the agitatio. Surprising. Back then Kenmores had that nice whoo hoo sound. We had some friends who had that same washer in their kitchen and we would sit around the kitchen table playing cards and I would listen to the machine. I...

Starting to evaluate the Terq 741c and I've a question for the gallery...

Andrew, I hadn't realized you brought these back home with you. That dryer is awsome. I can't wait to see them restored. I like the black/red buttons for the light on the control panel. It makes it easier if you need the light as you can leave it on. My step mom had one of the later AMP series...

The Bigger They Are the Harder They Fall

Yep, we all have those days Kelly. Working out, putting the push on dinner and feeling whipped? Like Chuck said you were probably being critical of the meal and it just didn't taste right to you. Getting older does have its challenges as well. Here at 60 there are times I feel like I don't get...

Yeast, A Life of it's Own

Well, I tried. It has been many moons since I have made bread. I love cinnamon rolls and just couldn't help myself. I must have put too much of the schmear in them. They are still cooling and we can't wait to taste them. The loaf of bread was intentionally made smaller so we can eat it with...

Can You Smell 'Em? Homemade Cinnamon Rolls!!

WOW!!! Do those rolls look good. They are one of my favorites. Brings back memories of mom baking on Tuesday. Always 2 loaves of bread, a pan of rolls for dinners and a pan of cinnamon rolls. Usually ready about the time I walked in from school. The house always smelled so good. The rest of her...

    Speaking of pressure cookers

Here is a picture of my model 40 presto from 1947. The year my parents were married. It has had plenty of use and has always cleaned up well and cooks exceptional even on a flat top stove. I use it every couple of weeks. I actually cook more with it in the summer because it is fast and cool. I...
