    Kenmore 90 Series Problem

Did it work for ya Drewz? A lot of the older style GE's I deal with have this problem. Most of the time I don't worry too much about the level of the water unless it is like WAYYYYYYYY out of sync.

    changing Kenmore lid switch ?

Goat, I totally agree with you on this issue's legal stuff. My wife almost got me into a legal mess a while back concerning a washer & dryer. She went to pick up a Maytag stack unit and was backing up backwards into an unfamiliar driveway and God bless her enthusiasm but she backed slap into a...

This You Gotta See To Believe

Westy, is the pump similar to a fish tank pump? Thought I may get some insight on maybe building me one. I have a homemade tool that I built to remove older GE agitators but it works on a completetly different principle than the agitamer. Can't tell you about it, it's "Men in Black" kind of...

Still need help with Whirlpool DOM list

All I know is that the belt drive (wig-wag) you are asking about was made for around 30 years if my memory serves me correct. Kenmore and Whirlpool went to the design 2000 models around sometime or another. ha~I just know that they direct drives are comparable to Adolf Hitler's Volkswagon in...

    Strange Behavior With Appliances!

My Dad grew up in the 1940's in a dirt poor Louisiana oilfield town. He began to pay his own way at 9 years old by hustling and peddaling any and everything legal to make his money. Growing insecure about money affects one for a lifetime. No matter how much money he has now, he refuses to crank...

How Do You Get The "Whitest" Whites?

Whiter clothes? The European laundry ball of course. haha, no really, I have two ways, Electrosol, which I used out of desperation one late night when I ran out of regular detergent and the second way which I found out of sheer curiosity is Clorox's toilet bowl tablets. The ones that you drop in...

    Speed Queen Washer Question

And if all else fails, the scrap yards are paying $3.00 per hundred pounds on old washers and dryers and $1.25 per pound on old insulated wire. Go do the math. haha.

    Speed Queen Washer Question

I think the old Speed Queen Marathon dryers were cool. I took one as a tradein/haul off from a lady a year ago. It would run for 20-30 minutes and then shut down. Just long enough to dry an average load. After sitting for 20 minutes, you could run it another 20 mins then another shut down. 20...

    changing Kenmore lid switch ?

Goatfarmer, I guess I'm a daredevil with those lid switches. I know it's plain and simple laziness in my by-passing those switches but more times than none, I have seen so many Kenmore and Whirlpool lid switches go bad way before thier time. But to give you an idea about how I run things here, I...

    Have you ever noticed this?

In response to above posts: thanks for your input. I never noticed the stove issue. But it has come complete circle with folks liking the flat top burners which by the way I recieved a 2-burner (flat top) buffet range for my last birthday. It is made by Rival, for whom I know very little about...

    1960's? Kenmore Pic's

Deja Vu, I own in my collection a Whirlpool that is a few years old that has what I call "a rainbo dial." They sure loved those colors on them dials at Kenmore/Whirlpool. Mine is almost cartoonish looking.

    Kenmore 90 Series Problem

Come on guys, i thought yaw knew your stuff here. Hey man, just go into your contol panel console, disconnecting your power of course and...on your water pressure switch you will see a tiny screw attched to the plunger that pushes in and out of the diaphram in the water pressure switch itself...

    changing Kenmore lid switch ?

Well, for lack of a better word , all I have to say about this cabinet design is "piss on it." I always and I mean always by-pass these switches before I sell one of them out of my used appliance shop to avoid future break downs for my customers. I just reach up under there and give that switch...

Need help with a 120 volt dryer.

I wouldn't leave the house with this hellion plugged just in case it is drawing power to that element although the unit is off.

Need help with a 120 volt dryer.

Hey man, even on air fluff, do you think that you may be still having your heating element drawing energy and heating up? Because of your centrifical switch in the motor being stuck. Check this man. Just an idea.

    Have you ever noticed this?

I was reading the thread that talked about how the 7-11 ice machines looked like a washer. Well I read a book about household appliances through the ages and how their shapes and designs were influenced by current trends in society. Eaxample, back in the days of the freight/passenger trains...

Maytag pair that I found last fall

You really should go ahead now and study up on the transmissions and brake packages on this washer before you need to work on it. personally, I don't like this washer because of past heataches with ALL Maytags but as far as the dryer, this is a really tough booger here.

    Matching Hotpoint Set

These , in my opinion are about the toughest that GE/hotpoint ever produced. But I never liked the bland clor combonation on these specific units. I would rather see the woodgrain with brushed aluminum consoles. Very pretty stuff there.

    Older GE Filter Flo

I would sell these at around 50.00 each in my shop. But that is the the type of clientel that I cater to. I have seen some of the used appliance stores hold these types for 6 months and actually get 100.00 per unit, totolalling around 200.00 on the set plus a hefty delivery and set-up fee added...
