That's a beautiful washer! Are there any members that have a working version? It's an interesting design to have the detergent, bleach, etc. dispense from the control panel. Wonder why it didn't really catch on.
Those are nice looking Genevas! I LOVE the countertops! Towson is not far from me either. Thankfully these aren't St. Charles; I'd probably spring for them if they were.
To echo other's sentiments: it would be nice if a US company would show this initiative. Also on my personal wish list: some style. Looking at Maytag, Frigidaire, and GE it seems that all 3, as well as many others, used to put quite a lot of thought into both function and style. Kudos to this...
I just have the one set and the DE700, which I may hold onto for parts, since they're similar. I sadly don't have space for more. :( I live vicariously through other folks collections!
Thanks Phil! The photo is a little older; the matching washer is sitting next to it now. Both machines are the best washer and dryer I've owned. They're quiet and the washer does a great job.
Phil, these are my two. I don't have a close up shot of the control panel on the 701, but the main difference is the electronic control plate instead of the buttons, and the the timer dial is laid out differently. There's also a 641C which is quite similar to the 700 if I'm not mistaken.
I believe the one in the photo from turquoisedude's collection is a 700. The 701 doesn't have the 3 buttons to the right of the timer dial. Instead, there's a plastic plate that says electronic control. My understanding is that the 701 has sensors in the drum that the 700 doesn't have.
