    Penny for your thoughts

@ultramatic Pennies are sort-of a copper alloy. Until 1982, they were a 95% copper, 5% zinc alloy. Since then, they have been a 99.2 % , .8% copper alloy with pure copper on the outside. I'd say they were not durable at all, without A LOT of urethane on them. A LOT of urethane.

    Non-Biological detergents & Colour detergents...

Biologicals...enzymes... Don't these detergents "eat" organic fibers, such as wool, silk, cotton, etc.? They are proteins, yes? Just curious; last time I bought woolens from woolovers.com/woolovers.co.uk/etc

"Four Kitchen Gadgets You Shouldn't Buy"

juicer Come to think of it , I do have one: a manual citrus juicer I bought at a thrift shop solely to extract juice when making marmalade. So I use it once/twice per year, does that mean I should get rid of it? LOL.

"Four Kitchen Gadgets You Shouldn't Buy"

yeah it is more 'what's your life like?' I don't use an electric can opener, nor a countertop grill. I have extensively used a juicer in the past (think several decades ago) but the thing I DO use frequently is a bread machine, for gluten and gluten free bread (we have 2). I just love the...

Miele EXITS US Large Capacity Marketplace!

I thought i was the only one... Wow, I thought i was the only person on the planet who preferred electric stoves over gas. I have electric convection ovens, but I also prefer electric tops...fast heat, not as adjustable as gas, no, but not bad. And no mess. I switched to electric mid 1990s...

    In Defence Of Bread Machines

Two Zoji My wife and I are a 2 Zoji family. I use the larger one that makes horizontal loaves for my bread. I make a loaf or 2 per week and never, ever buy bread anymore as I don't like the taste of store bought. I too think you can do a better job in the oven but I like the time savings...

Atlanta News Story about new washers

Incredible. I don't understand selling washing machines that don't ... clean clothes. You can use HE detergents that don't suds (sud?) but is the detergent REALLY out of the clothes? For several years I used my Duet and I now, having gone back to an Asko, remember what RINSED clothes were like.

    Planetary vs Dual Beater Mixers

"Cake Bible" I use this book as a reference, but interestingly enough, have never made many of the recipes in there. They just aren't to my taste. However, I DO use some of her components - like the icing recipes, and such. And the interchange charts about ingredients are invaluable if you...
