    1968 Magnavox console stereo catalog

Whoa Nellie! What an awesome machine. Does that record changer have GOLD trim on it? I agree with Frigilux. The lid most be OPEN to enjoy the stereo in action. Especially while playing 45s.

1976 Sears Fall & Winter scans

Just about everyone had the mid-range dishwasher on page 1180. My grandma had the Lady Kenmore dryer on 1168. It was electronic. The "timer knob" was more of a time or dry level selector. The starter was "touch start". You didn't have to hold the button in. I remember me, a 7 year old...

    1968 Magnavox console stereo catalog

A Facebook friend posted a link to this on Phonoland.com's page. It's 98mb but well worth it to see those beautiful Maggies. My stereo is in there. It's the 1000 series French Provincial model I got from Mark (Lightedcontrols). Anyway, enjoy! http://www.mediafire.com/?b213q25a51rmb4g

1976 Sears Fall & Winter scans

Runaway child running wild... through a Sears store That's the very catalog that caused me to tear away from my mom and RUN LIKE MAD through the Sears in Gentilly Woods to see the new Dual Action agitator. I remember flinging open the lid and gazing and there it was! A few minutes later, my...

Am I the only one who still likes CRT "tube" TV's?

I love old TVs But I simply cannot take that 60hz interlaced flicker at all anymore. I've gotten so used to LCDs that looking at a CRT computer monitor or tv is downright headache inducing. I don't think it's so much the frequency but the interlacing. Films are progressive scan and while...

Which dishwasher detergents are people using?

I'm using Cascade with Dawn. No phosphates but it does OK on the dishes. Mostly due to the vintage Potscrubber 1200 that actually uses water and heat. I use both prewash and wash cups and the heavy soil cycle.

    DC Washer Gathering

Cool! Well that will be awesome to have a huge wash-in/convention type thing. Even though my collection is in storage and I can't do anything with them right now, I'm still interested and would love to join in any future events.

    What Are your thoughts on.....

I like the smell of it too, but I know that a lot of people here hate it. There's no HE version of it so I can't use it in the Oasis. I know Fab used to have a version out that was HE compatible. Don't know if they still make it or not. But I went through boxes of that stuff when I had my...

    DC Washer Gathering

Interesting Sounds like everyone had a great time. I had no idea this wash-in was going on else I would've come and took lots of video (like I used to do). Was the event posted on the website earlier or was it by invitation only?

    Car A/C Caution!!!

Before I had to sell the VW. The VW Beetle has a feature when you turn the key to unlock and hold it, the windows will go down and you can just feel the heat coming out of the car. Then when I get in, I start it, turn the AC to high, recirc. When the air starts getting cold, I close the...
