    Glad to help out The door cable is probably worn on this unit. Replacement thermostats are easy to be had for this unit. I recommend the Robert Shaw thermostat.

    The new switch.... Coded for proper wiring. Existing oven wiring gets spliced into the new switch wiring with ceramic wire nuts.

    The old switch.... I color coded it for proper wiring purposes. When I took it apart it seems one of the terminals failed. It was the L2 terminal.

    I had an opportunity to update the '57 Customline wall oven. The top side selector switch was failing and by chance I came across the updated replacement part number. While I have the oven apart I'm going to do the bottom side also.

    Hotpoint Customline oven help needed

    Faulty common wire from the switch to the thermostat was the culprit. Replaced it with modern 12 gauge range wire and we're back in service. Thanks for the help combo !!!!
