I had an opportunity to update the '57 Customline wall oven. The top side selector switch was failing and by chance I came across the updated replacement part number. While I have the oven apart I'm going to do the bottom side also.

The old switch....

I color coded it for proper wiring purposes. When I took it apart it seems one of the terminals failed. It was the L2 terminal.

The new switch....

Coded for proper wiring. Existing oven wiring gets spliced into the new switch wiring with ceramic wire nuts.

Oven surgery....

New selector switch transplant. I trust this information will be helpful to all the Hotpoint wall oven fans. Questions?
