Gallons Per Fill - Speed Queen

<blush> Yes, when seeing the specs, I saw the 3.3 cubic feet and it didn't strike me! (Picture me embarrassed!) Sounds like a 20 gallon laundry sink ought to work!

Gallons Per Fill - Speed Queen

So in planning for my new laundry room, I'm likely to install a laundry sink....according to the website, the water consumption on a SQ top load is 31.4 gallons...presumably this is for a single rinse cycle. This suggests that each fill is 15.7 gallons and presumably that's for the highest...

New Washer Installed: Speed Queen AWN542

SQ Top Loader & Front Loader Wow, I've been away from the site for a while and it's interesting to read this thread. As I posted on a previous thread, I'm soon to be moving to a new home and intend to get a new SQ 432 or 542. What I may not have mentioned in that thread is that the new home...

Speed Queen AWN 432 or 542

Deciscions Thanks guys, I'll have to check on pricing...maybe I'll go with the 542...then to search out the steps to raise the water level and defeat the lid switch!

    Bosch Dishwasher

Bosch That's good to know about the Bosch, thanks! My current Whirlpool only does a full two rinses when there's a hi-temp wash, otherwise it's a wash, purge, then rinse. (The normal wash with hi-temp wash selected, or the Pots & Pans.) As it is, I only use the Pots & Pans cycle which does...

    Bosch Dishwasher

So as I indicated on my posting about deciding between a SQ AWN432 or 542, I'm soon to move to a new home. We're having some work done on that house first, and one of the things already done was the removal of a really worn out Kenmore tall tub dishwasher. I'm happy with my electronic panel...

Speed Queen AWN 432 or 542

Silly me - I posted this to another thread thinking I was creating a new post! Anyway, I'm deciding between the AWN 432 or 542. I currently have a 432 where I'm living now, but will soon be moving and will leave the 432 here so I'll have to get a new one for the new place. Both have the...

    SQ FL or TL

Speed Queen Top Load - AWN 432 or 542 Hey guys, I'm deciding between the AWN 432 or 542. I currently have a 432 where I'm living now, but will soon be moving and will leave the 432 here so I'll have to get a new one for the new place. Both have the second rinse which is very important to me...

    Kenmore front loader

Hey guys, I am very likely to be moving into a new home, and the previous owner is leaving what I think are newer model Kenmore front loaders...but I prefer top loaders. My plan is to get a Speed Queen AWN432 washer, with dryer...so I plan to sell the Kenmores that are there. It's in the...

    Speed Queen AWN 432

I know this is a silly question...I've been using my Speed Queen AWN 432 for perhaps a year now and I'm quite happy with it. I only ever use the regular or delicate cycle. This weekend, however, I was wondering, what does the Permanent Press cycle do? I can't locate my manual, but...

    Review of Speed Queen AWN412

AWN412 I have the AWN432, which is similar except I have a 2nd rinse option. Tell me, how high does the water fill on the highest level setting? You probably still have two to three rows of hows left at the top of the tub. There is apparently a way to adjust the highest water level. I'll...

    They Have Finally Arrived

New Set I'm sure you'll be happy with them. I'm curious to hear your review of them after you use them a bit.

    Frigidaire Orbitalwash dishwasher??

New Wash Arm I remember GE had a model with two small wash arms on each side of a larger wash arm. It seems that such a design and motion would provide jets wash from every conceivable position in that circle. Another thing to consider is that for a rotating wash arm, the area covered by half...

Check-up on the 65 Lady Kenmore washer

Lady Kenmore We had a white one just like this...it's the first washer I was ever aware of! Very cool.

SQ AWN432 - Overheat - It almost happened!

Good Advice Gordon, Great advice. You're absolutely right...for the last few loads I was doing exactly that, hovering nearby. Luckily my laundry room is inside the house, and because of the way my house is laid out, if I leave the laundry room door open, I can hear the cycle well enough to...

Ultrawash noise, pump starting to go?

Noise Ultrawash is the Kenmore branded, right? My Mom has one. I have a similar Whirlpool dishwasher, and I think the guts are the same for the most part. The only difference between the two that I've seen is that mine has an additional jet on the bottom of the top wash arm. There's one on...

SQ AWN432 - Overheat - It almost happened!

Timer Hey Arbilad - Thanks for the response. I had considered that perhaps there was something about the timer transitioning from wash to the first drain/spin on this specific cycle, so that's why I tried advancing to the spin after the rinse, but when I tried it, still just hum. Now I admit...

SQ AWN432 - Overheat - It almost happened!

As some of you may remember, I posted a note in the not-to-distant past about an experience with my somewhat new AWN432. It appeared to be between the wash and first drain/spin, but was unresponsive with a smell of electrical burning. After several attempts to put it back to agitate, or fill...

speed queen motor hums but dosen't wash

Belt Sounds like a snapped belt to me. If the hum was the motor receiving power, but the shaft not turning it would overheat rather quickly, but if it hums smoothly throughout the cycle and never drains...my guess is the belt is gone.

    SQ AWN432 - Overheat?

Update Well, my washer has been running normally, with no issues. Yesterday I did three loads with the extra rinse on each. The last one was quite full, but the loads weren't back-to-back. I was off from work and was pretty much lazing around the house so the loads were spread apart. l
